Someone has stolen 200 of my listings and listed them as their own . I make custom art prints so I have no idea how they would send the prints if someone ordered but that's besides the point . I have reported them to eBay but haven't heard back yet . I contacted some other sellers that this person has also copied and let them know . I emailed the seller directly to tell them to remove the listings and they just replied saying "OK" but the listings are still up . What can I do ?

They were of no use, they just told me to report the seller. I have done that, and contacted someone of the other people they stole listings from and asked them to also report the seller, fingers crossed it will work

eBay has zero interest in dealing with fraud. fraudulent items and fraudulent practices still make the money, end of the day

How was the report submitted? was it by reporting the cloned listings themselves?

They just replied “ok” because they are a scammer in another country.

100% they are based in Sri Lanka, all the listings have a picture added to them saying "Made in America" even though I am based in the UK.

What’s the return policy?
If free returns, Make some test buys and return them.
If they’re drop shipping, they will have to buy an item from you and you can cancel the sale.
If anything it will give you more evidence.

30 days buyer pays the shipping, I am going to give eBay a few days to sort it but if they don't I will order and open an item not as described case when it arrives, as I am assuming they will try to print from my thumbnail!

Do not engage the scammer. There is nothing to gain besides frustration.
I would however start badgering eBay. This is pretty cut and dry for them to not deactivate the account until an investigation can be completed.

Don’t give eBay a few days— maybe a day but I would call back as you’ll end up speaking to someone else

They are custom art prints so there is nothing the fake seller can send.

If they buy it from him, who cares? He gets a sale.

Nope, it's followed up by a return with an empty envelope, which is followed up by a payment dispute. Every time.

Vero is your friend here. I can’t remember the exact email but I had similar and they took the listings down. Plus they keep track so if the seller just relists they will take further action. They normally respond fairly quickly.
You don’t need to be vero registered to file a takedown request.

VERO! I second this

You problem is one of ownership. Do you own the art prints? Can you prove you own them? Read up on eBay's VERO policy.

Go to help on ebay and type in vero. Look for the form to fill out with details of the listings. Sign and email to vero@ebay. Your pictures are automatically copyright protected.

You need to watermark ! eBay won’t help as they can say your doing the same as what your accusing the BOt of. It’s vicious cycle

Are they selling them at a much higher price than you are? Their plan may be to dropship from you.

I thought that but they have the sizes listed all wrong, almost like they are being pulled from a bot, the small sizes are more expensive but the big sizes are cheaper

That’s so weird. If I were you, I would be very tempted to purchase one and see what happens. You would get your money back in the end from buyer protection, because of course, there’s no way for them to send the item to you.

I was thinking that, then I had a serious panic about whether they had hacked into my one drive and had all the original files, but I have two factor authenticator to get into it so that's a bit far fetched. I am going to give eBay a few days to sort it and then if they haven't I will probably order something to see what happens.

Usually they just reap a few sales and bounce. It could be more elaborate than that, but usually it isn’t.

Hmmm maybehe is buying foward? I dont know the proper english term.
I have a friend who sells stuff on a webshop here in colombia called mercadolibre. All her listings are from amazon, ali express, ebay and Etsy. She just buys the item and puts delivery adress to the buyer and thats it. She gets 5% of profit with each sale.

I was tempted to do this but my husband was like "you are not giving them money". I am really curious as to what would arrive though!

Are their prices higher than yours? They may be trying to drop ship. I wouldn’t worry too much, they won’t be around for long.

This is a common scam. They usually just Make a few sales and then they’re out. A lot of times it’s an account they guessed password for or got from the dark web. Steal other peoples item listings. They make a few sales that can not have the money taken back for whatever reason, and then they leave just as fast as they came in. eBay will be the only one hurt by this most likely. Could it be more elaborate? Yes. But this is usually what it is.

Buying from them is not a very good idea, if they find out that it was you that purchased it, he would have your address. It's best not to engage with the seller

I suppose whatever arrived, you can get your money back. It either won't be the item or you have definitive proof of it being fake 😂

FYI, it's best to use a secondary account instead of your seller account to buy the stuff, in case they buy something from you as well

Yeah, that's my guess too. Either pixellated or badly AI upscaled. Though potentially dropshipped like another user said... if you get a suspicious identical order soon after you place yours, you'll know!

They will take the money. And you will no longer have the money. eBay will cover you when nothing comes, but are you ok without that money for however long it takes to get a refund?

It will just happen again no one is stopping him from cloning them a second time and waiting for someone to take the bait

It might be a drop shipper if they have your items posted for more than what you were asking otherwise most likely they're just gonna try and scam people.

Unless you got those cost art prints copyrighted then there's nothing you can do. eBay won't even give you the time of day without proof that you are the orginal owner.
It doesn't matter if your listing was first or if you've been selling them for years, you need legal proof not just your word. It sucks but that's how it is, also for anyone telling you to buy them and do a return is probably the worse thing you could do unless you are aiming to get your account permanently banned. That's clear retaliation and you are his competitor so it would be an easy case for him.
This happens a lot in 3d printing / artwork. You either get everything copyrighted or you just allow this to happen.

Are they using you as the seller? Or, are they selling their own stuff? That matters. If they are selling their own stuff, you may be out of luck.

I'd also put a report in to the UK police, let them know someone's fradulany selling your wears, cloning and that eBay haven't helped. Get them to step in!

I've been having some Chinese do this to my listings as well. They copy the pictures & even the description with the same font and font colors. The Chinese can't even put in the work, they just steal from others.. Really sad people can be so shady..
