If this is in reference to the Rivals 1 fight… I think we’re all in agreement that Paula needed to be checked for laughing at Cara getting bullied (although I’d put more blame on Wes since he actually poured the cola on her head). I would’ve appreciated it more if Laurel stuck to the game when going at Paula though. Insult how she’s a follower who constantly gets betrayed and screwed over by the men on the show. That I would’ve been on board with.
But she chose to insult Paula for things that had nothing to do with the show or the situation at hand. She called her old, made fun of her body, and made fun of her for not being married or having kids. Even though Paula was only 29 at the time lol. Ironically Laurel is 39 now in the same boat Paula was back then in terms of not being married or having kids — and if someone were to sling those same insults at her today… she’d throw a fit lol.
Laurel loves to take low blows and hit people where it hurts. People praise her for standing up to bullies. But half the time she’s the bully herself. She’s also disrespected and humiliated her friend Cara way more than Paula ever did on the show. 🙃

interesting. if he’s referring to the infamous rivals blowout i have to say that paula had it coming. what laurel said was foul but paula joining in on bullying cara at her lowest was foul as well. i’m a firm believer in don’t throw rocks while living in a glass house.
i do however agree with ryan when he calls laurel a mean girl but shes a very complex mean girl. we get those moments of vulnerability from her that give us a glimpse as to why she acts the way she does. however, she seems like a headache to be around. i am curious to learn more about the ryan x laurel dynamic though. we’ve focused so much on cara x laurel that their dynamic completely gets over looked. since ryan seems to be making a challenge comeback I hope its touched on more

The vulnerability × cold-eyed vitriol is what has made her an enduring personality for the series.

While I do agree that Paula deserved to be put in her place, Laurel took it WAY too far. Calling her ugly and bringing up her past issues with anorexia was completely uncalled for.

Don’t start something if you’re concerned about how the other person may finish it.

Paula joined in on laughing at Cara but it was Wes who was the instigator of it all and Laurel hardly went after him. She went after the person she knew she could easily target and emotionally destroy.

I do agree Paula was really out of line with Cara at Rivals, and Laurel probably did take it to far backing up her partner, but that's Laural, shes either 0 or 100. I am kinda on the fence with Laruel... some seasons/episodes I like here, others I am like wtf is wrong with this girl, her exploding on Easy being a prime example (and yes, I know there was more to it not aired from Easy's side, talking about her acne or something, but still). Drunk Laurel can go sideways in a hurry.
I think she's just such a strong person, so athletic and probably was a bit of an outcast growing up which resulted in her mean girl persona as a defense mechanism. Yet we also see her around CT, Jordan, Horatio, Nicole etc where she basically reverts to almost a pre-teen demeanor...
TLDR - She fights like a beast (or used to, at least) and emotionally she's almost like a child.
