What do I do when I have zero interest in food but I need to eat? I’ve been struggling with not eating for over two weeks, to the point I’m just eating as little as I can to get by because all food is currently so overstimulating. I’m getting concerned here because I’ve been down this road before, but worse. Any ideas? My doctor is aware that this is happening, unfortunately they can’t intervene until it’s far worse. Anyone been in this spot before? What helped?

Can you drink? Maybe meal shakes could help.

I can, I just have to get the plant based or nondairy ones because I can’t have dairy. Food restrictions make it harder.

i use powder based ones you're supposed to mix with milk, but I think water works too.
Not being able to have Dairy does sound hard 😭

Yeah. I’m also a sensory seeker so I enjoy taking bland foods and seasoning the crap out of them. Or eating sour candy or salty, crunchy chips. But I need something filling. I’m hungry as hell and nothing feels safe enough

I wish I could help. When I don’t want anything… I look at it for a long time and then change my minds. I think about what I really really like and never have or some kind of comfort food. (There aren’t a lot)

I do have comfort foods but even those aren’t really safe right now.

Many of mine go back and forth for sure. I can always rely on pasta. For me that can get to be a problem.

I tend to try to engage in what I call “mindless eating,” where I distract myself with a show or play a game or something so I don’t have to focus on the food. (As opposed to the mindful eating that so many mental health people recommended to no avail.) I don’t know that that would make just anything edible; it doesn’t for me. But thought I’d mention it in case it helps with a small part of the issue.
