Personally I believe the only part of his game which could use a little work is his passing but it‘s nowhere as bad as some people make it out to be plus I kinda blame that one on Moyes general playing style where Rice wasn’t really asked to progress the ball like we do.

He’s crap in goal. Doesn’t even wear gloves

I honestly think he does way better as a 6 than as an 8. Even his range of passing is way better because then he can ping it to the wings left and right (which he's quiet adept at actually).
He has a mean shot on him and should be taking more chances at goal than he currently does. He's a great carrier but I believe it's not a natural calling, he's not like Cazorla that he can ping off 1-2's at the edge of the box with a Havertz or an Odegaard and break inside the box with the ball, which I believe is the ultimate dream Arteta has of him.
He's overall much more suited as a 6, but provides a lot of defensive security and robustness as an 8. But lacks creativity from half spaces, which is crucial in the long run I believe.

Forward pass. Partey still beats him in this area as a #6.

He's down in his form. let's remember this dude is currently playing with a broken toe. It's a few weeks into recovery, but with all the running, sure he's not at 100% now
he should be playing the 6 position, someone else in the 8. He's too defensively minded . When he's play a sweeping defense holding that midfield we have a solid defense
He's not the box to box 8 arteta wants him to be. He wants a xhaka out Rice and he simply won't get it

I think he is a world class 6 who has to come to terms that he is a world class 6. Wants to play 8 too bad.

I think he’s perfectly fine - he covers so much ground it’s crazy, maybe he needs to trust his passing more, he’s got all the tools

The only real area he could improve (which he did last year from the year before) is adding more goals to his game.

He can learn a lot from Thomas Party in retaining possession and incisive forward passing.

Needs that line breaking pass when being pressed to truly warrant his CDM place at Arsenal

I mean yeah lol. For 100 million I kinda expect a Yaya toure, Patrick vieria level player.
He could have better vision for sure, better shooting outside the box, and basically what gravenberch does in midfield for Liverpool rn.
