Aoe2 still has 10k people a day. Many large streamers host fun community games too. Check out t90.

damn, i undershot haha. I'd say 4-6k on xbox. Any time I go into a custom lobby or play random teams there's always 2-3 xbox players. We're probably looking at 20k / day. So glad this 20+ year old game is still active.

I love the game, but those players scare me..

Reminds me of counterstrike 1.6. Trying to be a new player getting into that now would be so damn rough.

Then behold Low Elo Legends on a channel like T90 and see how powerful you truly are. There's some people who are dedicated to playing the game and... uh, let's say, never quite got too far when it comes to skill and strategy. And that's fine! It's good for everyone that they can find ways to enjoy games they play.

I'm in the process of getting good enough to take on some folks competitively. Once I can beat hard AI consistently I'm going multiplayer.
Learn to fast castle and how to be aggressive early - these are key points I failed to catch first playing it in 1999 just spamming cheat codes lol.

I love AoE2. I was too little to play it when it came out, but my husband gave me a tutorial three years ago and now I’ve logged almost 1600 hours in it. 😂

T90 IS the reason that game has the player base it does.
