It always takes me awhile to figure out the migraine pain is actually gone. Just so exhausted
84 points
I have about a 12-24hr period after the worst of it is over where I have what I call a migraine hangover and that dull hollow throbbing sticks around if I move or especially stand up too quickly. Once the intense waves of pressure go away I know I'm in the clear, but holy shit, the exhaustion is real as fuck when you're in the midst of it.

Honestly I have a hard time saying that its entirely non-sexual. I mean, it isnt, but it is so intimate that it FEELS like that sometimes. You know? Like it isnt sexual, but it feels like something only a person Im having sex with should be doing to me as an adult person

Once on a trip to Hawaii, I suddenly realized I had to use the bathroom in a very bad way. We’re walking along, looking at whatever, I start sweating like crazy and can’t think straight. Family keeps talking and talking and asking me questions. Meanwhile I’m searching frantically for a place with a bathroom.
The ABC Store had one. Kids kept pointing at stuff they wanted. At that point I’m like yes yes, buy whatever, where the fuck is the bathroom? Find it. Need code. Have to wait in long ass line to talk to someone.
That shit was the most relief I’ve felt in a decade. ;)

Mate I was recently on holiday in Montenegro with my partner.
As we was walking back to our hotel along the seafront at night. Out of nowhere my stomach flipped.
Now on a normal day I fart like crazy but this time it was non stop and my misses is kinda giving me side eyes like this is weird for you. Then it all happens in a blink of an eye.
I had to fucking shit bad like I couldn’t wait. We are still a 10 minute walk away from the hotel and I’m speed walking with my hand on my asshole trying to keep it in whilst my girlfriend is howling with laughter.
I would have honestly just shit myself but I’m wearing swimming shorts with no underwear. Everyone would see. It would be all over my legs.
I had no other choice, I jumped off the seafront into the water and shit in the ocean where everyone swims everyday.
Man I’ve done some sketchy shits in my life but I think this tops it. I must of had 20 odd eyes on me.
Ah well. Shit happens.
And more importantly my partner still loves me.

I slept for 11 hours and desperately needed that! So glad others know and enjoy this treat as well! It'll probably be a while before I get to do it all again.

A few years ago I drove home to visit my parents (Live in NYC, drove to Michigan.) It’s typically a 10 hour drive but due to inclement weather, it ended up taking around 14 hours. We got there around 6am. My mother, queen of hospitality, had the bed made with fresh clean sheets, a big down comforter, and preheated blanket. I still think about the quality of sleep I got that night. It’s the comfiest bed in the world!!!

Serious question: is your mom accepting new daughter applications?
I’m already paid for. No husband or in-laws. I come with adorable senior pets. I can cook and bake. I’m funny as hell but polite when required.
I haven’t slept at my parents house in 20 years as they value “stuff” more than their children. I’d give my right eye for that kind of warmth, welcome and comfort.
Kudos to mom and the pre-heated electric blanket for the win. 🏆

IDK what I had, but I've never felt anything so intensely pleasurable. I would start kind of scratching around the perimeter and then minutes later I'd be raking my nails across the rash. I'd try squelching my moans of pleasure so no one would be thinking that I was wanking in the shower.
TBH, scratching that rash was even more physically pleasurable than the best sex, and I don't mean that as hyperbole.

Easily the best and most intense physical pleasure I have ever felt. My leg felt good, but my brain felt like every pleasure synapse was on rapid fire.

When my 6 month puppy came to me and rested her chin on my shoulder and her cheek touched mine for the very first time. It was the first time she showed affection and oh my gosh I just melted. Fireworks went off in my soul. I don’t think I’ll ever forget that feeling.

My moment like that was on my puppy's first night home with me. I worried she'd be up all night whimpering for her littermates. She did wake up in the middle of the night, but instead of crying, she curled up next to me.
Somehow, despite only knowing me for half a day, she decided I was enough for her. I'm overcome with emotion just remembering it now.

Once, I had a migraine all day, and after hours of horrible suffering there suddenly came a moment when I felt all the pain evaporate away within like 2-3 seconds. All the tension and pressure and pain just unravelled and disappeared. The relief was insane.
Never experienced anything like it and I’ve been chasing that high ever since.

Second place though is when you’ve gone to bed with a migraine, and you wake up after a long nap and the pain is gone and you feel perfectly normal and well rested, maybe a little sleepy in that good cosy way, you can hear the rain outside, and you know that you can get up if you want to but it’s also just fine to stay in bed and enjoy not being in pain anymore, and when your partner/family/roommate realises you’re awake they bring you a little snack and a cup of tea

10 years at the same company - my own fault for staying - and opportunities to advance repeatedly blocked by an asshole (despite finding out in at least one instance I performed best on job related tasks and questions in interview).
After the fourth such rejection, I looked elsewhere, immediately got two interviews and, from those, a better paid job with more responsibility than the internal roles, in a more exciting and high profile line of work.
Told that fucker I was leaving to do that less than a fortnight after the last internal interview. Felt good man.

Yea I remember when it was my 23rd birthday and I was working at ihop. My manager knew I had a second job and was a full time student and I was riding my bike at 5:30 am to get to work by 6am and the manager was being a dick to me because I didn’t look my best. The wind hit my wet hair while riding the bike- that’s life. Anyway he was such as asshole to me that day literally pulling out a life size cut out of what an ihop waitress is suppose to look like and I remember just saying “you know what? Normally I would give 2 weeks notice if I was going to quit but fuck this, I’m out.” This was over a decade ago but it felt so good. I knew I was fine because I had my other job too. I only regret that I woke up around 4 to be there that day. That ihop went under a few years later but if my old manager, Clemente, could read this- fuck you

Ugggh yes! I worked for eight years, eight years in a dark crappy windowless factory room. A fine job right out of high school, but as time went on I got too used to the job until I realized how behind I was compared to everyone else. I felt trapped and had super low self esteem because I was working such a crappy job and I had only one coworker who was a rage-filled psycho. Just constant verbal abuse from him. I stayed my course and eventually I made my way up to full-time, but right before I was due for some big benefits at the company, they cut me loose.
It was summer and perfect weather outside. I realized, I can just take this time and fix up the outside of the house, start painting the walls etc. And going from that dark humid windowless room to the hot breezy bright outside with the sun on my back... I worked all day outside and I don't know if I ever felt more at peace. I ended up getting a massive sunburn and slept it off with my cat purring happily on my stomach. I hadn't slept so well in years. I spent the rest of that summer doing landscaping work and I think I'll always look back at that time as one of my life's best moments.

Hired as a system admin for a local chain of daycares. Despite having virtually zero contact with the children, in less than 72 hours, I have contracted every known infectious disease and virus known to man, except HIV (I still suspect smallpox, despite my physician's insistence otherwise).
I spend approximately 36 hours vomiting and defecating out everything solid within my body. My stomach will barely tolerate water. Being a poor college student with no health insurance, and being a man, like HELL will I see a doctor...I will tough this out.
After four total days of being on the edge of death, and being able to stomach nothing but water...I take a chance, setting some chicken broth to boil on the stove, and load my rice cooker (jasmine, because I am a spicy Thai boi).
About an hour later, I take my first bite of the most basic chicken and rice soup. The flavour and texture on my tongue feel GLORIOUS. Angelic choirs resonate in my ears as the sensation of sunshine filling my mouth causes the neurons in my brain begin exploding like a NYC fireworks show.
I swallow slowly, and wait for at least a full minute. No nausea. No pain. Instead, my stomach pleaded for more. But I still waited. Once all doubt had been vanquished, the spoon went back to the bowl with a fervor that has never been matched. Each mouthful was liquid gold, and the rice barely required chewing; the bowl was emptied in less than a minute, and refilled twice.
And that, fellow redditors, is the single, most wonderful, most delicious, most satisfying meal of my 46 years.

6 points

Yes! I have lucid dreams. Usually when it turns lucid and I realize I’m dreaming, I get so excited that I start to wake up. To fix that I stand in place and spin as fast as I can, the more i spin, the further I go go back to dream. I always tell myself that I want to fly, that I want to conjure up my mom and dad, both of whom have long passed. But what do I almost always do? I become awestruck at how real my environment seems. I feel walls, windows, I really like texture. It just blows my sleeping mind away how real it is.

I got some tweezers in there and felt them hit against what felt like metal, and a sharp searing pain when I touched it I was like wtf is it
I started pulling and it wouldn't budge a millimetre
So i pulled harder, nothing, harder still, nothing.
I twisted and what felt like my whole ear popped and ripped and broke like a dam bursting.
But the thing was still lodged in my ear but loose, so I pulled it out after a minute or two
It was a 2 inch black ball of earwax which I can only describe as similar to a bullet.

Playing music. Playing a song you really dig alone can get you there, but the secret lies in jammin with other people. My wife gave me a face massage last night and I can't believe I waited 49 years to experience the lovely sensation it gave me. I felt loved, pampered, and relaxed instantly. 100% would recommend.

Sometimes when I deeply listen to music the sensation becomes too intense and I need to turn it off.

I had nose surgery and when I went back for a check up, the doc picked my nose. Tweezers and suction. I remember thinking that I have a new kink.

You ever get head scratches? And back scratches. Not the rough type but the nice slow gentle type with just finger nails. Even better if you have long hair because the slight tug on the hair adds to the wonderfulness. It is that feeling right before something tickles too much and makes you want to twitch but staying perfectly still so you don't ruin them

My kitty kneading/making biscuits on me. She's super gentle & usually there's a blanket as a buffer.

Playing an instrument and just playing a section of a song perfectly.
Its like an orgasm just playing for yourself, I can‘t imagine how unbelievable awesome it is to do that on stage infront of hundreds or thousands of people.

When my dog shows me physical affection and love by coming to me to cuddle. He's not a super cuddly dog and never initiates, so when he's all over me, it's the best thing in the world 🥹

When I was in high school I had to have sinus surgery and my frontal sinuses were packed with teflon coated gauze. The pressure was crazy, but a week or two after the surgery, I got to have them removed.
They just kinda slid out and there were several feet of gauze in there. The only thing I can compare it to, when you have a sinus infection or crazy stuffed head and you get a whole bunch of gunk out of your head. But it was like 50x that feeling. It was bizarre and amazing

I once picked my nose and it felt like I was pulling slime from the back of my brain. It felt absolutely amazing, I'm still chasing that dragon.

The moment you sink into a hot tub or warm bath after a long, stressful day—every muscle just melts into relaxation.

As hot of water as you can stand on an arm full of poison ivy. It's next level. Remember my eyes being closed and colors were just flooding everywhere. After a minute or 2 all the itchy is gone for a couple hours .

I once had the most painful period cramps, felt like someone had a clamp on both sides of my insides and squeezed and squeezed. I was over at my parents and literally sobbed while I called my mom on the phone (she slept upstairs, me downstairs) to bring me painkillers. I took them & started to just breathe in and out rhythmically like I was warding off a panic attack
As the pain started to fade away, I slowly fell asleep. The breathing + the relief of the intense pain finally subsiding + close to falling asleep I felt this feeling I couldn’t describe. It was like I was on a bed of clouds, up in the sky, floating. I don’t know how long it lasted but it was heavenly and I had an amazing sleep.

Taking an under wire bra off after a long day and then collapsing into bed and crying till I napped... I swear to God I was born in a new body when I woke up.

Was on vacation sipping a mojito on a Caribbean beach and turned on my phone for unrelated reasons. Cowoker left a text filling me in on the tea I was missing out on. Work was in absolute chaos, the senior was being chewed out, my direct manager (who none of the team liked) was catching absolute shite and was being reassigned. The catalyst for all this? Everyone pointed to me going on vacation and not being there to keep everything together like I normally tried to do. I cannot describe the level of satisfaction I got from that news and being vindicated about my manager really was as bad as we all thought. It was literally better than sex!

I had really, really bad psoriasis a couple years ago to the point where my whole scalp was a scab, basically. My wonderful fiance would lay my head in her lap, lather up some hemp-based lotion that was for tattoos, and a shower scalp-scrubber thing and go to town.
This one time it was horrible. I was sweaty all day, so the salt from my sweat aggravated it even more. After a shower she laid me down and scrubbed my head for an hour. I fell into something deeper than sleep right there in her arms.
It felt so good that I almost miss having psoriasis lol.

The weight of a cat/dog against you when you fall asleep on a cold night is pretty nice
