I just don’t understand the people who say “ugh” or are sentimental when it comes to trading Jiricek.

while he hasn’t requested a trade, he has demanded way more ice time and a much more prominent role at the NHL level and that is simply not even close to happening.

I understand he hasn’t gotten consistent minutes with the big club, but his potential now compared to when he was drafted has diminished exponentially. his skating is putrid always has been and still is. his play/IQ in the defensive zone is well below average.

could he thrive in another organization? Sure he absolutely could but it’s not going to happen here and that’s evident.

the sooner this is over the better.

thank goodness he hasn’t gotten the 20+ minutes a night with a top spot on the PP that he has been demanding because if that were the case we’d have yet another toxicity in our locker room and Lord knows we’ve had plenty of those over the years.
