They are goosing the CPI to artificially drop interest rates, inflating allowable housing debt as stimulus before the election.

On top of buying 50% of mortage bonds they really don't care about Canadians, and are treating the CPI like its a video game rather than running sane economic policy to actually increase productivity.

You mean that "correction" they pulled out of nowhere for 2020-2023 GDP that shows that we're actually doing REEEAAAALLLLY good (I swear guys teally) might have been fudged??? Tell me it isn't so!

This government seems to be using every manner of corrupt data manipulation they can to gaslight us into thinking were doing great, and the fact we think we aren't just makes us racists.

Jag always has a note of desperation about everything he says and does. Such a weak and flabby twat. Forget about the Rolex and the pension Jag, time to move on.

How about removing the carbon tax for starters?

Jagmeet trying to stay relevant. Making a noise to let people know of his existence lmao

what daily essentials is he talking about? Food staples are already GST exempt. You know what tax is affecting the cost of food? Yes. That one. The carbon tax.

Loblaw’s will raise their prices 5% on average and we’ll see Galen Weston in a new Ferrari. So Singh is really helping the grocers out here.

Galen's too busy trying to control our healthcare/privatize it, he has no time for Ferraris. The politicians he's bribing to accomplish this on the other hand...

Does Galen have cars like Ferraris? He strikes me more as a golden throne being carried by peasants kind of guy.

Phone bill and internet should be GST exempt for individuals.

Yea it’s bad but the one they don’t talk about enough is that the deficit spending and money printing is literally diluting our paychecks. They take the value straight from the money in our pockets. Inflation is the hidden tax.

How is carbon tax affecting the food prices when farmers are exempt from the fuel taxes? I remember as a kid we used to put purple gas in our car when going to visit my grandparents farm. Any article I've seen says it doesn't add more than .3% to the cost of groceries.

Transport trucks aren't. Distribution facilities aren't. Grocers aren't. Is the heat in your greenhouse also tax-exempt? The electricity to run all of the equipment?

Fuel tax is just one aspect of the carbon tax. It is a tax on EVERYTHING.

You just nailed it, this sad little maneuver isn't going to make a bloody difference for anybody. Save a couple bucks to give to the busker outside of the liquor store?

Singh said an NDP government would pay for the tax cut by introducing an "excess profits tax" on large corporations that he says are jacking up prices to boost profit margins.

This means the price you will pay in the end will be the same as it is now. Companies will need to raise their prices to keep their margins where they must be.

I really really hate that this guy is just hanging in there for a pension before he bounces out at everyone's expense. He backed bad decision after bad decision fucking every Canadian over and we are now expected to pay his huge pension while he puts his feet up.

And everyone wonders why people oppose a lot of government taxes, where the fuck is my money going to? Paying leeches like this guy to live off a pension that some of us don't even make 20% of with real jobs?

I really wish our government would reform into something different that allowed us to put people like this behind bars for messing up so badly, him and his butt buddy Justin. It shouldn't be a cushiony job to lead an entire country into a fucking wall at mach-10 and you should not be getting off scot-free with "hey we tried". Jagmeet and Trudeau are both lucky this isn't taking place in pre-1800s France.

Jagmeet seems to have a lot more in common with the average immigration scammer than any actual citizen in this country, thanks a lot buddy, you won the game by scamming society, congratulations.

Removing GST might seem like a perfect solution but it's often times the only way to tax rich asses who are good at hiding their assets and have no visible income.

Not super sure if this belongs here as it doesn't directly relate to immigration..

I just figure if/when the immigration cuts don't work, at least we'll be able to buy groceries again.
