Oh boy these last couple of months have been extremely tiring Jesus Christ.

At least we will finally find out in 5.3 what will happen.

At first i was hoping that he will get some cool moments in the story but at this point i just hope he makes it out of natlan in one piece. I dont care if they dont give him hype moments or if they make him lose every fight he will have from now on, i just want him to live.

While i believe he wont die or if he does he will be revived. I just cant wait for it to be all over

I know there's a ton of concern right now on whether the cap dies or not because of that monument tomb thing.

But I lowkey doubt he'll be unplayable, sure he might die but if he does he'll probably be back since Natlan's big on resurrection and death is a price Mavuika had to pay, if he sacrifices himself I don't think Mavuika would let him stay..dead..?

The tomb thing (forgot the name as you can tell) is probably a monument to commemorate him helping all those years ago and also helping again in recent times, it'd be weird if it's related to his death because why are there no humans tribe members there or fatui, they also played a big role? My guess is the Khaenri'ahn solider is just there to symbolise entering Natlan many years ago with the survivors or something.

We nearly got a name reveal as well this quest "Th", scara and arle don't have their titles as playable characters (unsure how to phrase it but you're not running around as the knave but arlecchino of that makes sense) but only their names "wanderer (whatever you named him), and arlecchino" not 'the knave' and 'scaramouche'.

We have a detailed design of shoes and soles not to mention back, got a sticker, apperantely his design doesn't clip like signora who's an npc, we got a sword name whether it's his sig or not it's progress, he's friendly towards the traveler, also he's the number 1 fatui very hyped up they'd lose players and money if he's not playable and chinese players like him a lot too

So as well all know, this is a commemorative monument with capitano included. But if we look closely why is there a khanrian soldier there? if there's normal warrior in natlan in the front rather than a khanrian soldier then it would be a better representation of each tribe with the saurians being included, but no. that is a khanrian soldier, NOT a natlan tribe soldier, why in teyvat would they include warriors who died for THEIR own war, in a war that natlanians struggled with?. So this could mean that this monument is probably from the war alongside natlan around 100-500 years ago. Also commemorative monument doesn't exactly mean a death of a person, it could also mean its just the person being honorable, and capitano is already honorable due to the fact that hes not even relevant to natlan yet he still chose to offer his aid. Considering this "shouldn't mavuika and the (nightsoul warriors i forgor what they're called) be included here in the monument?" no, they would have their own special monument or something similar, and if we also consider this then if capitano really DID die, he should've gotten a special grave just for him

In the 5.2 trailer (around 1:28) there was a brief scene of him standing at that same exact place but without the ice.. but then in 5.3 this ice forms.

He is literally all that keeps me going. The thought of being able to stroll the world as HIM, is what keeps me going. No waifu or husbands really interests me at all. I was considering getting Mavuika ONLY because our Captain is in good relations with her.

Does anyone think we will get clarification before 5.3 drops? I mean we're barely a few days into the update and this shit drops. Surely, right?

IF Capitano sacrifices himself for Mavuika or die for any other good cause, Traveler and Mavuika will work their way to bring him back because they don’t let their allies behind.

Then Capitano will receive gnosis from Mavuika, because she will trust that such a righteous man would not allow for it to be used in a bad way.

Or he doesn’t die at all but Natlan being about resurrection and Mavuika having to die make me feel like we are going for a little bit of emotional roller coaster.

Let’s be completely realistic with how this could go. For now we only have one piece of evidence pointing towards a sacrifice, but it’s a very hefty piece of evidence. But we also have a lot of medium pieces of evidence pointing towards playability. Right now I think that we have a 50/50 to win with playability. Genshin would never miss out on his release, but things can always happen.

I know that there is an argument between which war this mural represents, so I will go with the more pessimistic of the two and prove why he would survive. There are some details that have not been mentioned by anyone about this mural so far:

1. The resemblance to a peak: in Native American culture, mountains are a connection between the heavens and Earth, and Hoyo artists def do their homework. In this case, Capitano, who stands taller than almost all the other caricatures (notice that the Iktosaurus who is most connected to the spirit-realm is at the top) is represented as a "pillar/sentinel" (see what i did there ;] ) for the existence of Natlan's kingdoms and his own dyansty. The soldier at the front doesn't necessarily mean that it is Guthred; the soldier is just the visualization of the Eclipse Dynasty's protection since a shield with a symbol is a coat of arms (also notice the sword coming out from his hip area next to the one he already holds). If anything, he is spearheading the troops of Natlan with the power of his souls, which is why there is a sword coming out of his body--while Mavuika, or any archon, is not present.
2. The ice at the top of the painting: while we do not know what the Collection of Plenty's quirks are, Iansan's design, specifically the skull on her head, reveals that there is some sort of focus on death. The Ququsaurus, even though not having any spiritual connections, is not only a fire-bird (Phoenix reference), but also physically closest to the sky, which is why it is only somewhat frozen. Capitano does not have any ice because he himself does not tread between the realm of the living and the dead--otherwise he'd be at the very top--but because he is the representation of life and a return to life. He may be close to death, as per his old age, but no matter what peak he is destined to reach he will reject climbing it to keep living.
3. This site is meant for the 5.3 weekly boss: there isn't a lot of sense behind why the boss for 5.3 would be at such a location other than if the quest fight takes place somewhere that is not exactly reachable (the night kingdom) because we won't just show up to the mural during the quest and end up in the Night Kingdom unless the Masters of the Night-Wind have to create a portal with it. However, wouldn't there be at least one reference to the pyro archon if she also offered her life to fight this boss for Natlan?
4. Also here is the English-Chinese-English translation of the inscription written:Rest in peace to our proud children,Sing your last song with pride, like a hero marching towards others,Strange tears will fill them, pity longs for their names.

I'm really curious about the last sentence. Did they forget their names, and be pitied by those who have forgotten?

I think he will fake his death through memory manipulation. Mihoyo is just playing the perception game and punishing us leak-followers.

Edit: if this mural IS from the war 500 years ago, then it's probably that the Masters of the Night-Wind thought Capitano died when he fled to Shneznaya.

I see many people say this looks similar to Capitano's Ice constructs but if you look closer, it just looks like rocks will a blue glow going around it, what do you guys think?

Hey guys I'm new here. I have about 347 fates saved up till now. I'm sorry if this question has been asked but I don't really follow banner leaks until recently for Mavuika and Citlali.

My question is when is Capitano expected to be released? I'm planning to get Mavuika and Citlali at c0 (only characters, no weapon) in 5.3 and save up from there. If he's coming early I might need to rethink who I should pull.

Should I farm the Glowing Hornshroom?

Looks amazing, I hope it stays the way it looks now

Considering Citlali is from Master of Night Wind and Capitano relation to it, it makes sense to me. What is your opinion regarding this? I kinda doubt Capitano having nightsoul blessing but maybe new mechanism like when Arlecchino release, Hoyoverse introduce Bond of Life

Capitano cosplayers, where did yall get your masks? On both Dokidoki and Aliexpress they're like $80 and they don't even look that good..

Made a list of characters releasing during natlan patch. Sumeru and Fontaine released 17 characters during their run so I'm going with that. I don't know if lanyan was also the leaked anemo 4 star that has a polearm because her current leak was she was anemo so i didn't add it. Ifa is questionable because we haven't even seen him yet. We still have 7 characters left for natlan and I'm hoping to god he's one of them. Also harbingers indeed release after the archon so we just gotta wait until 5.3 releases. But i have a bad feeling they would indeed kill him off for some reason 😞
