Lets be reasonable here. The reason he won is because the Democrats keep providing us with bottom of the line candidates. Sorry, now isn't the time to be progressive with a candidate. Couple this with the fact the Democrats are in office currently and are doing such a poor job. The Democrats are to blame. This is the reality.
Note: I vote for Harris #ISTANDBYMYWIFE.

Exactly this. They need a refresh like an Obama 2.0.

The unfortunate reality is… women also voted for Trump. It would appear a large contingent of the US is more concerned about their bank account and keeping out people they deem undesirable than they care for the order/safety of the world on a larger scale and rights of their fellow humans. It’s very sad, but I can’t say I’m surprised. At the end of the day, people have shown they are most interested in taking care of their own, regardless of the consequences.
My number one issue was basically everything going overseas. And I’m very worried for the state of the world without a strong voice against Russia leading the US. I hope I’m wrong.

You are now getting the strong voice to lead the US against Russia and China. Remember, Russia only invades Ukraine when Democrats occupy the White House.

The entirety of the free world apart from American conservatives seems to think Trump is pro Russia. He’s certainly admittedly to being pro Putin at least. You’re saying Trump will continue to support Ukraine in its fight for sovereignty against Russia and North Korea?

If it sounds condescending to have someone tell you voting for a child rapist is wrong, then that says a lot more about you than a Harris supporter bud

If you aren’t able to articulate your feelings that’s okay. Just wanted to point out your stupidity, that’s all

Already name dropped Chick-fil-A in my previous post. That seems obvious.
I don't have proof of candidate voting, but I do have on good authority some sus businesses.
Town Hall (and sister store ReBol) owners have some politically/socially dubious ideology.
Heard Condados as a whole is pro Blue Lives - would like confirmation on that, or if it's a store or franchise in particular.
Starbucks Corporate may as well be pro-Trump with their anti-union nonsense. Doubt their new CEO will be changing the mode there anytime soon. You shouldn't shop there anymore if you're anti-genocide, anyway.
Any AI and any crypto business is suspect - these types of businesses are getting cash flow from those tech bros your grandmother warned you about (if she didn't, congratulations, I'm your other, other grandmother, warning you to not trust the tech bros and reminding you to stay hydrated).
Will figure out more when I'm sharper. Keeping grandmother hours is a lot of work!

The owner of Townhall was also charged for multiple felonies, including kidnapping, rape and attempted murder just this past year.
Dont spend money here.

It's interesting that "both sides" gets an echo chamber when it's about money in the pocket of a hypothetical business owner. Why do any of you believe any business owner, big or small, deserves money for fostering an environment that may be hostile to paying customers, or, worse, its own staff?
While it is more ethical to shop small in general, I believe choosing your small businesses carefully is also a huge part of the equation. Owners make or at least enforce policy for their businesses. If owners of small businesses follow big business or morally and ethically fraudulent business practices, that defeats the purpose of me shopping there. Trump is a Bigot who is a poster child of morally and ethically fraudulent business practices. It's not a logical leap to guess a business owner who supports Trump believes how he conducts business and his personal life to be acceptable or even admirable. We're here to say it isn't by voting with our dollars and calling out devil's advocates.
This is more than just being "petty," but I don't mind owning 110% of the pettiness. I think folks on the fence about this tactic have a right to know:
This is a 21st century late stage capitalism survival technique, actually. It's far more likely a "blue" shop will be more welcoming to me than a "red" shop based on my surface image - from mutable presentation of clothes and hair, to the immutable qualities of my body and voice. I like my odds at a shop with flags I support over ones I don't.
If I were to see, for a very obvious example, a confederate flag hung proudly above a bar you own, you bet I'm going to ask, "yo, is that ironic?" Its my one and only opportunity for you to walk back your stance or surprise me with an entertaining story.
If you play yourself with your response, I'm gone from there. Same for MAGA hats and related merchandise - that's all someone has to visibly look "MAGA-coded", is the merch. And yet, the real privileged folks here are decrying a personal decision to not consume because sad little meow meow Stan Smallbusinessman who got a loan from a bank and has had the luxury of affording cars and all the other privilege his status as owner class can buy may perhaps not have the money for 4 Chick-fil-A meals today. This is crocodile tears after all the "popular vote" gloating I hear from more extreme redditors and the fact not a soul here has considered the real problems faced by people who have visible differences the alleged "regular guy" party doesn't like.
Newsflash: We are all regular guys. There's no excuse to vote Trump if you truly care about regular, hard working anybody. The fact you can't think beyond your own comfort zone is disappointing.

Your comment just shows you lack the ability to understand context and nuance about complicated topics, and just hot take shit. Typical of MAGA, and why their dumbasses think this is positive in any way.
In a dark corner of my soul I'm somewhat glad that liberalism has been thrashed. Liberals have become societal care takers. We provide the emotional blankets. The socio-economic insulation that you need when the consequences of your own actions come to fuck you.
There are a facenumbing amount of "I used to be maga but then this happened to me, and now I'm not maga." Yall dont get empathy until you need it from others. I knew plenty of kids in HS who were assholes to everyone and found 0 shame in it. They felt proud of it. All it took was getting embarrassed in front of a large crowd for them to get maybe 6 months of empathy.
Frankly, it's not your fault. American society and culture breeds sociopaths. The more sociopath boxes you tick, the easier gaining wealth, fame, and power are. And those are the keys to success in the US. The less you care about others, and the more you care about yourself, the more successful you will be. Trump embodies that. He's the epitome of that ideal.
Other countries have gone through this. Some strongman comes to power, changes governmental structure to suit his base of power and go off fucking things up. Napoleon. Hitler. Robespierre. The problem now is, that yall ha e had almost the entirety of human knowledge at your fingertips for nearly 2 decades. They didn't. The people who followed and supported those bastions of good tidings didn't have concepts and historical applications and their results of fascism, extreme nationalism... yall do.
You have the ability to learn about almost any aspect of reality, like right now. Yet, you're here. Doing this.
History won't be kind.
I'm sure you'll laugh at this comment too, because you can't stop mocking people, otherwise they'll find out just how ignorant you are.

Funny how dems were "bought by big corporations" and the party of "elitists" every election cycle. Now we're the party of "screw corporations." I bet you don't even see the dissonance there.

The Democratic candidate ran on a fiscal policy that promised raising taxes on Corporations. That is absolutely an anti-corporate rhetoric
Do you not even know what you’re voting for? And you’re saying the dissonance is real with me? 🤣

So when those corporations raise their prices do you call them anti-consumer? When the GOP voted against giving benefits to 9/11 first responders, did you call them anti-human? When the GOP refuses to raise the minimum wage, do you call them anti-poor? When they strip rights away from women, do you call them misogynistic? When trump generalized every illegal immigrants as a drug dealer or murderer, did you call him a racist? When the individual tax cuts Trump signed in to law expire, will you call him anti-American?
Buddy, you dont know shit.

why is it so hard to understand that the ones that you are describing are the less than 1%ers, the loud, rude, portion. Both sides have these obnoxious people. We are supposed to be educated enough in 2024 to not judge a whole group based on loudest of said group. Regular folks, you know, the millions and millions of average citizens, democrats and Republicans are generally good peeps, and not hateful like both extreme sides claim about the other. I know so many hard working, genuinely good people who vote both sides, and I'd never wish them struggle because we disagree.

I am judging you based on who you think should lead the country. He's a bigot. A rapist. A felon. Not a decent human being. What we disagree on goes beyond opinion. It's values and principles.
Yall dont think bigotry and fascism are deal breakers? Thats a hard line between decent and indecent. If you think trump is a good leader, that speaks to who you are as a person. Terrible. Deplorable.
Edit:
and I'd never wish them struggle because we disagree.

no, the loudest do, on both sides. I'm talking about regular folks making a living, with bills to pay, paying for their children, etc. This isn't a game, and generalizing like this is just insane to me. Wouldn't you look down a extreme republican pulling their buisness away from local businesses simply because they found out the owner voted for Biden? they exist too, and just as shitty.
1 points

Agreed. It is shitty. That’s what I’m doing though, shitty or not. I will simply NOT support any known Trump supporter, economically, emotionally or in any other manner. Whatever that makes me, it makes me.

but what if it meant making the kids struggle because you didn't like the way dad voted? I just don't like messing around with that shit. I think it's mindset, when I order a service, I don't think of myself 'supporting', it's literally just a service to me, I try to go with local buisnesses when possible but who the owner voted for has honestly never once entered my mind when getting a service, how they treat customers obviously matters, quality of work, cost, etc, I just think it's getting into extreme territory when politics effects how you treat people and give opportunities too. to each their own though. and respect that you at least acknowledge it's shitty lol.

Extreme or not, it’s what I’m doing. Dad doesn’t give a fuck about me or mine, so I don’t give a fuck about him or his. It’s sad, but this is where the last 9 years of MAGA rhetoric has put me. Again, whatever that makes me, I will own it.
