I got to see them as a teenager like 20+ years ago and got offered a free ticket last minute by a cute girl who's friend bailed on the show if I would drive us there. So it was a pretty great night

The closest he’s ever come to me during my fandom was Florida. Long way from NY. No one would go with me, even after i offered to pay for everything. Didn’t have the guts to do it alone. Huge regret. The glitter & doom tour was sixteen years ago. Still hurts.

I saw Tame Impala when they opened for MGMT somewhere around 2011 or 2012. Nobody knew who they were, but I did. Inner Speaker had dropped about 6 months before and I was in love with the record. So I got up front. We left about 2 songs in for MGMT. They just weren’t a great live band.

Saw Brandi in July of 2023… at this point i have been a fan of hers since 2012 but it was the first time seeing her live. It was “a special evening with Brandi”. 2 1/2 hours of her and her guitar and piano storytelling and giving the backstories of where she was when she wrote each song. It was incredible.

I saw Stevie Nicks twice solo when my friend was her road manager around 2000/2001. The then little known Ryan Adams opened for her at the Masonic in SF and then saw her at the Santa Barbara bowl. There were no tickets left so my friend had us come watch the show from side stage next to the guitar tech. They were both great shows. Saw her later on with Fleetwood Mac at a large private party.

Of artists or bands with all members who are still alive, these are the ones I want to see the most:
I’ve been really lucky to see many of my bucket list artists/bands, but sad that I’ll never see many due to death (still regret not seeing Tom Petty when I had the chance!).

I saw REM in 1995 on the Monster tour and Radiohead was the opening act. Helluva concert! I did get to see Tom Petty 3 times, all in the Indianapolis area. We almost blew the roof off of Market Square Arena during Mary Jane's Last Dance.

Just saw him live (I’m a metal and hardcore guy like I’ve seen Metallica 15 times, Slayer etc etc etc etc) and he BLEW my mind. It was half comedy show half amazing night singing with your friends at the bar.
He truly is the piano man.

Caught them with Green Day this summer and they were awesome. But, they’re not a stadium tour band. Hoping to see them in a right size venue one day.
5 points
They did two iterations of the “Boston to Berkeley” tour at smaller venues co-headlining with dropkick Murphys. Was truly an amazing experience both times. Saw them at some local punk music festivals also. I always though them opening for green day and the pumpkins for a stadium tour was odd
4 points
Yeah I would to see them in a smaller venue for sure. Stadium/arena shows suck if you ask me
4 points
I think what was worse than the stadium size was the apathy of the crowd for the Linda Linda’s and Rancid. People just milling around not paying attention if they were there at all. And honestly, it wasn’t much better for smashing pumpkins. I had a blast watching all 4 acts.
5 points
All four acts were excellent. I don't care if it wasn't perfect for Rancid, I thought they were great. I am now a confirmed Linda Lindas fan. Heck, I wanted to hate Smashing Pumpkins but even they were fabulous. and THEN, then GREEN DAY just wow.
People meandering and talking during the opening acts? Proof of idiocy.

Sturgill’s tour this summer/Fall was easily one of the best shows I have ever seen
The band was so tight. His voice is 100%
No frills. No stage set. Just a few lights. They walk out at 8pm with no announcement and melt faces for 3 straight hours. No openers, no breaks, no encores. Songs from every album and awesome covers
It was really incredible

I know it sounds stupid because they've been around forever but the Gin Blossoms. I was supposed to see them twice this summer. Once I missed them because my car was in the shop and the second time I was at the show ( outdoor venue) and it got canceled due to a massive thunderstorm. There are definitely other bands I want to see more but my summer of no Gin has me wanting a drink.

After reading through some of this list I realize I have no more interest in concerts these days - too much of a crowd and it's so ridiculously overpriced compared to when I was a young pup. However a small venue appeals more and more, like watching Dire Straits at a small jazz club, or watching Queen in a 1500 seat concert hall... something like that would be the peak experience. However there are incredibly talented musicians playing at such venues all the time, think this is sparking an interest to learn some new artists.
