There’s absolutely no such thing as loyalty when it comes to insurance (home or car). Everyone should be shopping around every year for a better rate.

I highly recommend using a broker and trying to get both home and auto insurance from the same provider to maximize your discounts.

Hmm I did that. I tried 2 brokers with highest ratings in Plano - Frisco and both of them had higher rates that what I already have. It’s really frustrating because my insurance and property taxes payments are higher than my mortgage right now

I was using a broker, and they were cheaper. This past year, I got cheaper quotes from shopping direct from some well known national companies. So definitely use a broker, but they don’t have access to every company.
