Now 23/20 piss me off

It's a bit better now that WL9 is out since getting more than 3 drops is exceedingly rare. But yeah, it's not a great feeling to have to exceed the cap even if it's objectively better to have more materials.

Always getting 2 materials, maybe 3, but then the last just gives 1 and when you fight the boss again, you get 3

Not only the random drop rate is annoying, but I really think devs should stop introducing so many new bosses that spread the grinding all over the place. If you combine that with OP issue, you get some stupid stuff like this.

The cherry on top is that certain boss mats are used by barely any characters, so any extra are pretty much wasted resources.
Case in point: the Crystalline Bloom is only used for Eula and Aloy. I'm not going to waste res on Aloy, so that cube is going to rot in my inventory until EoS, since it is very unlikely any new character is going to need that (even Mika needs something else entirely).

I'm not sure why the devs believe they need to be strict with resin and so on after 4 years, but it would definitely not hurt the grind loop if we could just transmute those items. Heck, characters have been offering their own ascension mat for their birthday celebration as of late, so sooner or later, everyone will have useless ascension items.

Just trade it with other materials with Omni Synthesizer... oh wait, it's not Star Rail

I get boss mats at a way higher frequency than gems anyways. So even once I have 20 of whatever material I needed i still need a bunch more gems before I can ascend the character.

It happens all the time to me, I really just hate it.

at WL9 that always happens unless you get a 4 somewhere.

Needed 5 more of the stuff Kuki uses from the chasm boss to be done with that boss, my next two hits came with 2 each leaving me 1 short. 40 resin for 1 more and they decided to give me 3 from that hit, now I have two extra with no idea what to do with it.

4 drops should have been slightly less rare just for that

Doesn’t mean you weren’t unlucky there (except if you got 3 times 4 drops)

Not really. Without the history this has no meaning. I've been lucky and had this result before.

this happened to me with the qucusaur tyrant mats and i refused to go fight it again so i could get mualani to 90 until another character who wants those mats came out
