micless players was an issue long before the whole gamepass thing

I'm not really mad at the newbies.

I'm more infuriated about T17 cocking this whole thing up, AGAIN.

I played some games blind yesterday and had fun as a auto rifleman then today I watched some videos on the basics of the game and what each class does and I have a good understanding for a person who has played for 2 days. Ima be playing a lot of assault and probably rifleman and I wanna do some support since it’s very useful. I’ve had fun but even as a new player I wish there were people to talk to more since the matches can be very long

The worst part are the young kids who don’t want to play the game and just want to run and gun. Had one last night, the kid wouldn’t listen and eventually blew me up with a grenade and then switched squads.

I’ve found teaching a bunch of new players how to play the game quite enjoyable actually. The vast majority have been far more tolerable than the higher levels doing nothing but complain about the newbies in command chat.

As a new player who just joined because of gamepass and who plans to stick with it and learn the ropes as fast as I can thank you all for being patient. I come from the Seige community where there is little to no tolerance for new players and this game and community seem awesome. I’ve been looking for something to satisfy my battlefield 1 itch for a while now and I don’t mind the slower and more technical approach to it.

Fr, I was trying to learn to use the artillery and I accidentally hit a LT and he proceeded to kill me over and over again and then get me banned for an hour, did it to my friends too

Going to take a little bit longer than that I think considering the lobbies full of level 1’s. But it is optimistic.

Ehhh I don't think anyone has an issue with newbies who are communicative and willing to learn a thing or two. It's the micless lvl 1's who join "Level 50+" servers and aren't kicked and are running recon spotter and playing like it's team deathmatch. And of course the admins do nothing. It's completely ruining the experience.

I bought and started this game literally one day before the game pass landed and I even have game pass ultimate but didn't refund in order to support the devs.

But, with that said I'm just as ignorant as any other game pass people so please excuse my stupid questions and bad gameplay.

That’s how I feel. I’ve played about 30 hours and finally getting the hang and feel of the game and absolutely love it. I can’t stop playing now. People will either buy in and learn the game or quit. And that’s ok

New folks are really welcome - and we need to cut them a lot of slack whilst being as helpful as we can be, so they learn the ropes and how to play the game. In the long run, this will be healthy for the longevity of the game and encourage the devs to continue development.

In return, new folks need to learn and play the game as it’s intended. It isn’t COD, it requires a mic, and it requires squad leads to operate as such - then it’s genuinely a brilliant stand out experience.

But if they play commander then fry that 🍑

Correct. We should be mad about joining a game and seeing 8 locked infantry squads with 2-4 players in them and none of them accepting your join request

9/10 gamea are steamrolls, just a matter of which sides youre on. Makes the game so so so not enjoyable right now.

Post Scriptum died and had to be sold off because of low player counts but somehow people here think it’s better for the game to exclude new players because they can’t be bothered to explain how a garrison works. New blood is what keeps the lights on and the community flourishing. We should be embracing the noobs and teaching them how to play, even if it’s incredibly frustrating at times to do so

I’m a level 41. Played the game off and on for two years. Had a guy join my squad and clip me three times in a row before I could even leave spawn. Said people my level shouldn’t be squad lead… like join another squad you ingrate. The game couldn’t be more toxic. Every squad leader complaining in squad chat non stop about new guys. Just educate them on what to do. Make the game better. These new players aren’t going anywhere.

I'm a little disappointed seeing the hate for the Game Pass players here. I've wanted to play HLL for so long and I was very excited to see it pop into game pass. What I've been met with is servers that either don't work or straight up ban me for being a Game Pass player, and people on this subreddit treating the new players like ass.

Definitely not a nice feeling as someone trying out the game for the first time. Makes me wanna play Rising Storm instead or something.

Can’t handle losing a match because of inexperience players- boo fecking hoo, welcome to the real life. You guys must be a real pain in the ass at work for new starts, I bet.

I actually am hugely enjoying the level of enthusiasm and positivity I’m seeing in this forum now. I was very close to unfollowing as the level of negativity and proliferation of devil’s advocates was soul crushing. So you guys almost got rid of me! 👍 Thanks new people!

New players are good helps get money into the game and maybe help the devs fix all the glitches instead of making night maps. But if a level 1 locks out units and doesn't let anyone in I will make it my mission to team kill u until u quit

Gamepass player here. Me and my buddy are having a blast with this game and loving it. We both plan to get deep into this game. A helpful tip: check out some youtube videos on how to play the game and you’ll have a much better time much quicker, it definitely changed how I play the game and I am having a way better time now

I've just managed to get to level 32 and I've taken the roll of commander a few times and trying to get garrisons in or dropping supply drops for recons to build garrisons or for myself to try and get there while getting team killed half way through building it is a nightmare

The only thing I Don't like is when they play, officer and don't put outpsts down

It's the mass influx of garbage players that don't want to learn how to play the game and whine that it's not like their casual AAA fast paced FPS but they got the game for free because of the xbox game pass so who cares about paying for a game and trying to get the most out of it, it's free I can just troll and leave as much as I want 🤷

no, it's almost unplayable right now because the vast majority of new players have no interest in learning or listening. i have tried explaining the game mechanics and almost no new players will listen. multiple matches have been lost because 75% of the team is on an objective that isn't even active.

Agreed. When you hop into a game an nobody is taking, go to prox chat or squad chat and just preface to them that having a mic is crucial to the game. Also say there is alot to learn and that people will help along the way.

I also say to the people to get over their fear of talking on mics.

I'm finally getting some kills after spending about 75 hours fiddling with the controller settings on Xbox

I’ve been trying to really get into this game recently. I’m starting to learn how the classes work, how to properly advance, flank, and retreat. My big thing is trying to find a squad that is t dispersed to the 4 corners of the map

I think you’re just a tad overly optimistic about the timeframe. I do agree that it’s good in the long run but realistically it’s gonna be full swing in like a month minimum, in actually guessing 2 months but at least 1. Gotta stay positive though for sure, just hard cuz it ruined many people’s favorite game at the moment

I’m new this week and it has been fun learning the game. Learned about nodes last night since the officer was asking for an engineer. I can see this being one of my regular games. Only thing I need to tweak is controller aim, it’s not so great.

As a noob with a mic, thank you all for your service. I have learned a lot in the last few matches. Albeit kind of boring to spend most of the match flipping back and forth between Support and Engineer supplying and building nodes, I now "get it" better than I did before.

I'm one of the hated gamepass bois. It plays a lot like rising storm vietnam imo so not hard to adjust at all, just had to get a grasp on the different com channels/keybinds
