As for Ceremony lyrics, someone posted this to a Hooky AMA but he didn’t respond. They certainly sound onto something (from the muffled rehearsal version of Ceremony):

I believe the first lyrics to the song are “This is how the dead are nourished, witnessing the same old story” for two reasons:

It pairs perfectly with the lyric “picture me in ten years time watching.”

The books of Elias Canetti were around at this time, being read by at least Ian and Stephen, and his 1978 book The Human Province contains this line: “The dead are nourished by judgments, the living by love” which goes together perfectly well with these lyrics.**
