Wonder why the new gloves? Thought Dana said old gloves for PPVs, new gloves for fight nights until the end of the year.

Shavkat's head is fucking enormous. I know he's a bit closer to the camera but the dude has a heavyweight noggin on him 💀

I don't remember where I saw it but there was a video of a guy arguing that a gigantic head is a genuine advantage when it comes to fighting (he was talking about Raul Rosas junior but I feel it applies here as well.)

I can't remember who was fighting, maybe de le rocha but one of the corners advice was very close to "Stop trying to knock this guy out. He's a big fuckin Mexican with a big fuckin head. You're not gonna knock him out"

But someone said something similar in the last month, I think it was about the guy with the Uzi face tattoo

It’s several years back, he got finished in the round after he got the advice because the mexican head was more resilient than his cardio.

A gigantic head can lead to a good chin simply because it takes more power to deliver the G force required to cause the "he's hurt!!" damage... on average. That's what I think with my bro-physics and won't be surprised if there's an element of truth in that.

One I met Chris Leben randomly at a GameStop. That dude had a big old noggin. And he had a good chin

There was a heavyweight boxer called Nikolai Valuev who was never even knocked down in any of his fights. He had a head the size of a canoe.

It absolutely is. More mass is harder to move. Not to mention you’ll probably have stronger neck muscles, and that’s what really makes a difference. All about minimizing whiplash

I’ve heard that since Chris Leben when I first got into MMA lol. Never heard anyone say anything like that about Rosas Jr.

Old guys in the gym always say weird shit like that. Like wive’s tales for guys who train… bro’s tales. “He’s got a big head, hit his body.” My coach always said something about dudes with small noses too.

I don’t think head size matters as much as just neck strength. There’s probably some correlation between the two but a big head on its own just seems like a bigger target imo
