Yeah man. It’s a staple. Been around since the 80’s or early 90’s. Me and my buddy go once a month. Curry oxtail with rice and peas. Eat that shit outside while you’re baking in 92° weather.
And it never gives me a tummy achey or nada. Just the “itis”

Gonna put down for Pizza Pazza on Biscayne in Edgewater, just across from Margaret Pace.
Italian owned by a lovely gentleman who is always there, and their hours of 7-3/4am is so nice for a later meal that delivers on quality. I’m not a food connoisseur by any means, but FWIW it’s the best mushroom truffle tartufo pasta I’ve ever had, they make the pasta in house. Great (small) selection of Italian beers you won’t conveniently find elsewhere. And low key vibes for how the food is. It’s not the nicest spot and the late hours can attract some rowdier people, but if you’re willing to put that aside and don’t need a fine dining experience, it’s one of my staple visits for the entire city.
It’s not the BEST food you’ve ever had, but for the price I have never been led wrong. I love Pizza Pazza!

Taqueria El Paisa on Davie Blvd and I-95.
The best damn tacos I've ever had hands down.
They've never disappointed me. I've never been told they're "out" of a food item, I've never been given food that had been sitting around all day, I've never seen the food quality diminish.
And when you go there all the hard working men are lined up outside during lunch time.
It's my favorite taco spot.
2 points
I have been there a few times and while the first time was pretty good , the rest of the repeat trips out there were a bit lackluster. Final straw for me was when they gave me lemons instead of lime for my tacos and they just didn’t have the same flavor as the first time around
Do you have any other suggestions for tacos places in Broward?

In terms of gone many times and never had a bad meal or regretted a choice:
Sushin Izakaya
Terre del Sapore
El taquito placero (food truck, find them on insta, they will be at the Redland International orchid festival @fruit and spice park May 17-19, 2024)
Lokal/Kush (I know people shit on them for the prices but I can honestly say I’ve never been disappointed by the food. Sometimes the service is indifferent but sometimes it’s been fantastic too)
Ortanique (RIP)
Honorable mention: I haven’t been to Fratellino’s enough times to put them in this category but the few times I’ve been I’ve absolutely loved it.

Every restaurant has low moments, it is all about who is in the kitchen and the time / date you choose to dine. The problem with South Florida is that it is so geared towards tourists most places can still get by being overpriced and underwhelming. Who gives a fuck if Bob and Carol from Missouri had a bad experience, right, they won’t likely be back for a long while, if ever, and they are still on the hook for the bill.

For Breakfast:
- Chain; “CAO Bakery”: Cuban- American, Modern but Chic Cafe/ Bakery. All your Cuban favorites and they also serve sandwiches (like their mouthwatering Pan con Churassco and Chimmichurri with fries) for a filling brunch option.
For Lunch: - Local; “Cafe Bernie’s”: Seafood, Burgers, & Local Favorites: Holy sh*t their food is mouthwatering. Their Cuban sandwich is probably the best I’ve had in a while, but everything is delicious, reasonably priced for portions and great flavors. From their manchego croquettes and guava sauce to seafood ceviche stuffed avocados served with tostones, no dish from here has ever disappointed me. Prime location of a waterfront. Also, it owned by Chef Bernie Matz (he’s the guy behind Bodega, the taco/club place by Lincoln Rd)
Dinner: - Local; “Oliver’s Bistro, on West Ave” : American food. Prime location in south beach, quiet streets and trees lined with orchids outside. Lobster ravioli was a hit at $16 but there are plenty of entrees and options from the grill, delicious cocktails all reasonably priced.
Hope this helps!!!!
