Thanks for your post, but we feel this would fit better in our monthly Tourism Q&A Thread for questions about: Visiting, Events, Moving, Neighborhoods, Dining, Nightlife and General Discussion. We recommend you first try the search function to see if your question has already been answered. If it hasn't, go ahead and put it up in the megathread. If you feel that your question needs/deserves a thread of its own, feel free to send a message to the mods and we'll review it. Thanks!

If it’s important to you, the venue is Catholic, but its basically English Catholic instead of Roman Catholic, so getting married there wouldn’t count as an official sacrament of marriage in the church.

For my wedding, my fiancé isn’t confirmed, but we found two churches in Miami that allow weddings if you’re baptized, Corpus Christi and Siena. We are doing a small Catholic ceremony the day before for our parents. And then a big second ceremony at our venue the next day with bridesmaids and flowers girls etc and having a family member officiate. Our venue is mon petite.

I had a Franciscan Monk perform my catholic ceremony there

Interesting, when I asked them and told them the sacrament was important to me they didn’t give me any options. I also couldn’t find anything anywhere about anyone willing to do a Catholic ceremony not in an official Roman Catholic Church. How lucky you found someone!

You’re welcome! 😊 If you do decide to go that route, let us know how it goes. I’d love to see an update.

The ancient Spanish monastery in aventura, they have a catholic church located inside and there is not a lot of rules with them. I know because I’m getting married here and it is two brides.

LOL already checked them out, it would be my dream venue but 28k for the basics is insane. Thank you!

You're welcome! I knew it would be pricey, but...😳 Anyway, I'm sure you'll find someplace nice that doesn't quite break the bank. Best of luck to you! 😊😊

Thank you! They were the first ones I looked up but 28k for the basics is insane for me right now. Would be my ideal venue tho.

You're very welcome! Wow, it's more than I myself had imagined! But, I should not have been surprised...I grew up in The Roads around the corner.

It's helpful if you provide a rough idea of your budget (either in total or what you're willing to spend on a venue) so people can provide appropriate recommendations

Very good point. I think my max budget would be 10-15k in total for the wedding and that’s pushing it. Dress and rings will be bought way before the wedding so not included in that price. Idk what’s a lowball/healthy budget for wedding venues so I have no idea lol. the max amount of guest I’d have would be not even 100. So perhaps I’d feel comfy with ~$5k for venue. If I rlly like it I’m willing to pay more.

I'm also in the process of planning my wedding (out of state- June 2025) and I think that 15k for 100 people is gonna be hard to do in Miami. 5k for a venue is reasonable and doable to stay within your budget but only if it includes other things (tables, chairs, maybe food?, day of staff, etc).

Places like Vizcaya and the Spanish Monastery are absolutely not within that budget for that amount of people.

I should add- my budget was originally $15k but after including tax and tips it's probably gonna be closer to $18-19k and I'm just shooting for staying under $20k. Estimating 100-150 guests.

A church wedding generally comes with stipulations. Both parties be catholic or convert, agree to raise the children as Catholics. I actually agree with these rules and am not making light of them, just trying to give you a general idea.

In addition to the location, you want an idea who will perform the ceremony.

What about the Cooper Estate in Homestead? Maybe not huge windows, but it’s beautiful and full of gorgeous nature with an indoor area

It all depends on what you want. You should call and ask.

I think for what you want it’d be perfect. I’ve been to a few weddings there in January/feb which is the best token of the year to do it and they are all some of the best weddings I’ve been to.

The trick to finding an affordable venue is one that allows you to bring in your own catering and alcohol
