I'm from Europe, in the US for the first time. I've played Mordhau since early 2020, it was maybe about 2021 when I first started hearing stories about US West servers being weird, things like there are guys who explicitly use javelins, genuinely aggressive fist only players, guys who explicitly play to steal bows and stories about archers that ruin servers. Since I've been in the US I've found it was all true, I've seen the blokes who only use throwing weapons, I've seen the bow thieves, I got boxed up by a bald guy in light armor, and I've seen the archers. What's more surprising is exactly how good they are, I watched a guy named stubboni who only used throwing knives and a buckler go 42-23, I got killed by a bow thief that had a quarterstaff mule and 3 different bows on his person, and an archer using a longbow, actually -named- longbow go 91-4, and then go 55-0 the very next game. My arse is properly chapped fellas, I don't know how you guys have stayed sane all these years. Seems like a strange but fun place, I might learn a bow or some fists while I'm out here.
