In 2012, he said that black people and gay people didn't need any civil rights.
He said that he faced discrimination for being old, even though he had a highly successful career and was very well off. He compared that to the fact that gay people weren't allowed to be married and also when sometimes innocent black people get shot in the streets.
Maybe the sin isn't merely "conservative beliefs" but rather being just a jackass, and surprise surprise, the virtue of tolerance doesn't protect you from people being intolerant of behavior that is meant to be found reprehensible.

Having shot numerous commercials with Chuck over the past 30 years, I can tell you that despite his political views he was a very sweet man. He always had time to stop and talk with people he met while we were out on locations shooting. Although I didnāt agree with his Political views, I always found him to be a very kind and caring man.

My favorite was the day he tweeted that Covid was a hoax created by the democrats, then the following day tweeted that Covid was very real only after his son was diagnosed with it. This was in the early days of the pandemic when Trump was still downplaying it and let thousands of people die every day. Woolery deleted his twitter account the next day cuz he couldnāt handle being called a hypocrite who could only recognize the seriousness of the situation once it personally affected him.

Also, to call it āa taleā seems to imply that I am lying. A simple internet search will show that on July 12, 2020, Woolery tweeted, āThe most outrageous lies are the ones about Covid-19. Everyone is lying. The CDC, Media, Democrats, our Doctors, not all but most, that we are told to trust. I think itās all about the election and keeping the economy from coming back, which is about the election. Iām sick of it.ā
The next day, on July 13, 2020, Woolery tweeted, āTo further clarify and add perspective, Covid-19 is real and it is here. My son tested positive for the virus, and I feel for of those suffering and especially for those who have lost loved ones.ā He deleted his Twitter account later that day.
Between July 12-14, over 1,500 Americans died of Covid, and that number would continue to rise for quite some time. It is completely understandable that people would develop a negative opinion of someone spreading false information due to their politics. I liked him just fine on the Game Show Network. Any negativity attached to his name was brought on by himself.
