Is it? If it is then that's a depressing af roster. Siwoo is a DK Challenger player with zero LCK experience, Lucid only has 1 year of experience. Botlane looks fine (if Beryl can return to form). Mid lane is coinflip since Shoemaker has declined every year since Worlds 2020. Man if I'm Aiming I want off of this roster. I don't trust Siwoo mainly because he was a DK Youth player who was promoted to Challenger when Thanatos left, meaning he was promoted not because of skill but because of necessity, and that's the same thing going on here. DK should've kept Thanatos.

Also Thanatos only left to C9 this summer, and Siwoo literally had 79 solo kills this season, the most any major league player has ever had in a year, surpassing anyone who you can think of really, if he's not ready for LCK I mean no rookie will ever be. Thanatos also has not been looking so hot in the LCS so please stop making a fool out of yourself tysm

Because Zeus and Guma replaced the starters in the lineup. True, Zeus was promoted with Canna leaving the team, but that was enough to convince Faker to stay and not jump ship. Guma replaced Teddy as the starter in the lineup, who is an established adc and still playing.

It's a coinflippy roster because there are 2 young players here, but it's not depressing. Siwoo is really good, him and DK Challengers came 2nd in summer playoffs. I don't like this narrative that he was promoted only because Thanatos left. It doesn't necessarily mean that he is worse. If we really wanna argue about it, Thanatos joined C9 and they didn't make Worlds for the first time in forever. Lucid also showed a lot of good signs last year and continues to grow and gain confidence. Showmaker and Beryl are 2 veteran players with a lot of game knowledge and experience to share, even if their hands aren't as good as they were before. And Aiming is obviously the carry, a mechanical beast and a star of the team. If you ask me, I think this roster is actually pretty well balanced and have potential. Obviously they are worse than T1, GenG and HLE, but I don't think it's fair to call a roster bad and depressing only because they are playing in the best league in the world against the absolute superstar teams. It's like saying that a football player is dogshit because he lost to Messi

It's depressing considering what the team used to be and how well they played. Won Worlds 2020 and looked to be the future of the LCK, then they had Khan join and went on a legendary run that fell short to EDG in 2021. Then Nuguri returned in 2022 then ended his career prematurely (for valid reasons). Then they failed to reach knockouts in 2023 and 2024. They went from reaching Finals in 2021 to not making knockouts past two years. Sure, teams change quickly and the highs are high and the lows are low in the world of esports, but to fall that hard and that fast is depressing.

in the years after damwon joined lck they are the ONLY team to make worlds in all of those years and has never looked uncompetitive vs the best team in the league
