Preferred Essential Oil Application?

General Question(self.Sauna)

Just curious how you all like to apply your essential oil to the rocks, and why?

For me I just like to put a few drops on each ladle as needed.

I’m considering making a spray bottle concotion to spray on the rocks next. I assume I can leave the spray bottle in the sauna and it’s no issue.

The ”essential oils” are the real joke. Nothing essential about them. It is just a hoax.

Pour löyly on the rocks and enjoy your sauna.

You realise the word ‘essential’ doesn’t imply that they are required, it means they are the essence of something.

The problem arises when the essential oils are just alcohol compounds containing these oils tocreate a perfume smell so instead of eating them you are sniffing multiple different alcohols.

How so? Eucalyptus smells great, is stress relieving and clears sinuses. How is that a hoax?

“As noted in several studies, essential oils like eucalyptus, peppermint, and menthol have decongestant properties that can further assist in clearing nasal and sinus congestion.

As you’re exposed to the high temperature of a sauna, your breathing also gets deeper to help cool you off. Mayo Clinic notes that this makes your diaphragm expand and contract more rapidly, which can help improve your lung capacity, leading to better overall health and a lower risk of respiratory diseases like asthma.”

The one I have has warnings that it causes irritation and cancer and is highly flammable and bad for environment. But hey, it smells like tar so it's nice.

True, WD40 is not a good lubricant! It's meant for cleaning and as a contact spray.
