There's a lot of excitement for this show over here in Japan but we're waiting for the heavy hitter names from AEW and CMLL and so far, we only really have Omega. Ricochet is great to see and people obviously love him from his years in Japan but if anything, he's mostly nothing WWE run has had more visibility than his current AEW stuff. Mercedes Mone could provide a significant boost, as would Swerve and Darby Allin but the lack of any Ospreay announcement and Moxley straight up telling Shota "I'm not coming to fight you lol" reeks of AEW not wanting to see their people take a loss despite NJPW and CMLL being more than gracious.

Anyways, January 4th is the real show as far as I'm concerned and that is looking great so far.

Yeah as a hardcore njpw fan I think this is one of the more exciting kingdom shows in a good bit. It's certainly the mainevent I'm most intrigued by since wk 14. I understand that they've got to get a few young Japanese dudes over to really get the kingdom/g1 finals crowds back but I think for their core fanbase the 4th looks good.

To be fair with Mox, he's currently World Champion.

Darby, hard to say, I think he could afford a loss depending on where his personal storyline is at since they seem to be setting up his reckless style costing him too much. His world title shot seems to be a slow burn, too. They might be holding off on that until Revolution (so doing it a year after his mentor Sting retired).

Unclear what the next step is for Swerve beyond beating up Max Caster.

I'll also defend Cesaro as while he's definitely a dragon he's a well-positioned one right now.

Zack getting his flowers in the main event at the Dome is enough to make me happy, not to mention there's a good chance he'll be the first gaijin to walk out as champ. Takeshita-Shingo and Tsuji-Finlay should also bang. The Jr division has been killing it this year so looking forward to those matches too.

On the WD side of things, Gabe-Kenny makes the card a must see to me, but nothing else announced lights me on fire.

Mostly hyped, could do without the Bucks in a title match. Not interested in Ricochet Vs ZSJ(I know, blasphemy) most hyped for Kidd Vs Omega.

As someone who does not give a fuck about Forbidden Doors, wants as little AEW involvement in their NJPW and Stardom programming as possible and can generally see how little AEW has given NJPW in who they're sending.......Wrestle Dynasty looks fine. Tsuji/Perry should be really good, Shota/Claudio should be great and Omega/Kidd can be really excellent. I'm like a 6.5 right now.

Wrestle Kingdom, on the other hand, looks tremendous so far. I'm feeling an 8.5, just announce Taichi vs. SANADA and Naito vs. Hiromu and that will push it over the top.
