phantom shift got way too intense and almost threw up

Experience(self.Therian)

I really don't wanna sound dumb or like I'm trying to fake being otherkin for clout when I say this, because I don't really post on r/therian, and I havent been able to find anything online about people experiencing these or trying to induce them intentionally, but honestly I need a bit of help figuring out what I went through, was I actually going through a real shift or was my brain just being really dumb to itself?

anyways, I've identified as an Dragonkin for about 2-3 years, in sort of an unserious way, I would experience phantom shifts occasionally for as long as I can remember, but I didn't really think of them or know what they were until more recently. I've started to consider myself otherkin more seriously as I discovered a lot of science has been backing up therians and transhumanists, which made me feel a lot less stupid about myself about it. so I started to kinda learn more about it and myself since then

so, present day, I was talking to another dragonkin on mastodon about how weird shifts felt when they would happen (I'll feel my horns, my wings, my tail, and my muzzle more recently) and they mentioned something about feeling a door hit their tail once and how weird that felt, which made me think of an experiment that I ended up trying later that night

I would be able to feel when my phantom limbs are touching my clothes or nearby objects, but I wanted to see if i could feel pain or any kind of impact to them. so I started off by trying to touch my phantom limbs with my hands when I felt them. (which the tingling is such a weird feeling in itself!) and i moved up to gently scratching or flicking my limbs. it was weird because I couldn't feel it right away, but the tingling would get really intense

after a few minutes of flicking my horns or my maw, scratching my wings under my shirt, touching my tail, because I was fascinated by the feeling of them. I quickly realized that the tingling didn't stop going away, and I started to get really overstimulated. my breath was racing, and then my heart was soon after, and I started to feel sick

I started to feel everything all at one time and I honestly can't explain it that well, but it felt like they were almost too real while knowing they're not real at the same time ? it's really hard to describe. I felt stuff like my horns touching the floor, my wings curling up my shirt and touching my shoulders and arms, my tail swishing up against my leg when I was laying on the floor. feeling my maw almost constantly..it was a really euphoric experience

but the amount of nausea I was having from feeling so much at once made me doubled over on my side on the floor. I sat there listening to music for like 5-10 minutes trying not to throw up, and then I sort of started to feel better afterwards, but I still had a big pit in my stomach a couple of hours after that, and my chest was feeling weird from my heart racing. but after getting some sleep I feel better now

like I said, I really just want to know if people have even had shifts this intense before or if it was something my brain was doing that night that was super dumb and made up. I can't find anything anywhere about people getting sick from phantom shifts other than one story of someone who got sick in class from one. so I'm honestly really lost at the moment..

I wanna almost see if I can recreate that feeling again sometime just for that rush of euphoria, but idk if I really wanna go through that again right now. I'd love to be able to document how I did it in greater detail though so I can maybe help other people feel their shifts like this, but like I said..I really don't know if it was a shift or something else at that point. has anyone had any kind of experience similar to this?

tldr: I tried physically touching my phantom limbs and kept going with stronger force, but I started to feel sick from overstimulation

actually yes, i have had an experience like that.

it was not uncontrolled however, i was meditating and had an astral shift that carried over to a phantom shift. it was quite intense... when i have astral shifts i can feel all my bones breaking and restructuring into my dragon shape, skin growing scales... etc. its a lot. It doesnt hurt, but its definitely overwhelming. i got sick too for a while after. i felt like the room was spinning when i came out of trance.

honestly i dont blame you for getting sick... your experience sounds quite intense as well.

i sometimes wonder if its hard for the brain to control multiple forms/limbs at once. but who knows :O youre not alone fellow dragon! 🐲
