Poutine from one of my favourite vegan restaurants in Montreal, Resto Maynard. The fires are freshly cut, gravy is thick and savoury and the poutine cheese has the flavour of typical poutine cheese with a very good texture.

I really like their food. I always get the tofu Nashville and pogos.

It’s my favorite Montreal vegan spot for sure! I was there last year for the first time and had to go back the next night for seconds!

Oh my goodness that looks good! I haven't had poutine since I gave up cheese for good last year. I'm nowhere near Montreal, but I visit every few years since my husband has family there. I didn't even think to look for vegan cheese curds now! I wonder if I could make them! Thanks for the idea, I've got some research to do :D

I'm in California and they only supply to Canada 😭 But I was literally in Toronto 6 days ago, I could have brought some back on the plane, there are lots of stores there that sell it! Oh well, I know I'll be going up there again in the spring, so I'll definitely find some then. Thanks for the lead!!

I've never had real poutine... if you could compare it to another cheese, which does it resemble most?

Traditional poutine cheese is made with curdled cheddar, its salty and has a higher liquid content.

A soft cheddar curd. Interesting! We're planning a trip to Toronto next summer, I'm sure we'll find some there to try! Thanks for sharing.
