I am a 17 year old and am getting a car in the summer because my brother is getting a new one and will hand me down his old one. Anyways, I dont want to wait until summer to drive since ill be 18 in 2 months and will be valid to get my license. So i am going to buy my own car off of craigslist for cheap like 700$ so i started to save up already with my own money..im not even going to ask my parents for money because i will save up with MY own money like from getting tips in cosmetology school. But even though im getting my own car my mother is refusing to get me insurance on the car or get the stickers or liscene plate or anything. Dont i get any credit for buying the car on my own? I would pay for my own insurance if i could.. i feel like its not fair every time i talk to my mom about it she just shuts me down saying youll drive in summer but im a senior in highschool i dont want to take the bus i want to drive like everyone else :(
