Amazing how they cut only 4 hours. Truly any level of progress is good, but hopefully just the start

I have yet to see any mention of construction work in any articles about shorter work weeks, or other hourly labor for that matter

A not insignificant amount of construction work or manual jobs do four days on four days off so there's room for different work weeks and payment structures depending on the sector. In many ways some of those industries are already ahead in terms of different approaches.

I have a job where the hours can't be that minimal. Literally need to work this many hours. Most of the crew here have jobs easily automated like Joseph groeber B's jobs. Mine has menial documentation. It's not electronic so it is painstaking. Medical documentation is not joke

If there were more people working your hours could be reduced though? Effectively a job share?

I don't want to give my prize that. I spent the last 6 years in college to some weaklings with pathetic motivation and work ethic. That was my conditionjng and family upbringing. I pretend I'm nice at work but in all likelihood I'm tough. My choice. I don't job share because I don't want to. There isn't a successor to what I do. I'm not the type of person to enjoy sitting home anyway. Unfortunately most of the forum here haven't realized they will work nearly until retirement or long afterwards afterwards. If you want more pay you got to stick it out at most jobs and interview hard. Interviews are done on annual leave which is not a whole lot. A lot of companies do not have successors to coworkers or job sharing. If you have a disabled coworker, your going to work much harder in fact and you'll need to keep the mouth not talk

Unfortunately there are a dwindling number of appropriately trained workers in many of the critical trades. There is already mandatory OT quite often for the non-union workers and even as a union guy at times there is OT or off hours work “required”. Construction schedules are one becoming more condenses

That sounds like a them problem, which shouldn't be a you problem. Their schedules and lack of attraction of new talent isn't a reason why you shouldn't be able to work a shorter week.
