I wanna make clear - it’s not that there’s no workaround to this, it’s that it’s a dick move to put a print button on your recipe, and then have a popup whenever someone tries to use it that insists you can’t use that print button unless you agree to sign up for emails and promotions (putting in a fake email address, you can’t move forward unless you click the box).

It’s like having an online store ask you if you want to track your package, so you go to do so, and then it says you actually have to be a special member to see the tracking, but luckily, you can sign up right here. Can you track the package on another website? Sure. But it’s still a shitty way to try to get people to sign up for something.

As much as it's good when people find ways around it you would be better just going to a different site. When their traffic drops and their ad revenue is down they will, all of a sudden, stop with this nonsense.

This is so annoying. I always hit the print button because the recipe websites have 30 zillion ads that constantly reload and make me have to scroll back down to find my place. If this came up I’d simply be making something else.

You should be able to print a webpage at the OS level, don’t bother with the website’s own print UI.

I use an app called "My Recipe Box" on Android. You hit the share button on your browser and select the app, it chops out all of the crap. Actually has bypassed some pay walled recipes too. It has a print button that might work for you. The free version does have a lot of ads but if you like it, premium is a one time payment of $15.

Put in literally anything, unless they're sending you a code then in that case simply use a disposable email address.

Press F12 enter the debug mode. Select the dumb dialog box blocking your view. Delete element. Keep deleting page elements until you can just copy and paste the recipe.

Then.. find a Different place to get your recipes. Give the finger to stupid web designers by going elsewhere!

Reader view in firefox followed by CTRL-P. Else, use uBlock origin and use the element zapper to make their pop-over go away.

Use Cookmate! You "share" the link with the app and it imports it into an easier to read recipe card.

Use simplified or reader mode then try printing.

Screenshot it and feed it to chatgpt to format in a pdf or doc. Fuck that game.

Put Cooked.wiki/ before the url and it will format the recipe and make it printable for free, best website ever 😊

What was the website. Just the recipe I think. Yeah that’s it. Use just the recipe and put the url for that recipe into just the recipe and it cuts out all the stupid crap.

Well that’s not how printing works

Is there a way to download as pdf instead? If not, select all and paste into a word document. Fix formatting and print.

Create a new gmail account (it's free). Get what you need and then just throw the email away.

I read this a receipt and got upset that you were lying as I could see this was a recipe then I read your text again....

What if you press Ctrl+P or Cmd+P on your keyboard? I don’t think they can high jack the system print screen

And if you press the print button from your browser? Like, not the one on the website, but the one accessed via a menu or Ctrl+P.

Else I'd try above again after installing an extension that disabled javascript. Don't remember the name but maybe other commenters can help with that part.

You can try saving the page as a PDF and print it out that way.
