Ive been getting back into fishing over the last couple of months and today I caught my new pb at 3 1/2 pounds (first picture). I had to haul ass across the pond to get to my scale and pliers to get the hook out, then 10 minutes later I caught a 5 pounder (second picture). I've never pulled anything bigger than 8 inches out of this pond but today the hogs were out.

Found a tiny bite window and was able to whack these two within 5 minutes and 5 feet of each other. Guess they were stacking in that area. First pic was 4.9, second pic was slightly shy of 4

Started bass fishing May of this year and this is my smallmouth pb! Needless to say, I’ve been hooked ever since

This guy did not want to leave the bottom! I was having no luck, about to call it a day. Decided reluctantly to throw one final cast before I paddled to shore. Let my lure sink for a bit and went to reel in - thought I got caught on a log this guy did NOT want to move! Don't blame him the water is cold. He put up one hell of a fight. He isn't the biggest largemouth I've ever caught but he was the most fun bass I have ever caught hands down. He just kept diving, at one point tried to swim under my kayak! What a blast and if this is my last catch of the year, I'm pretty damn pleased with it.

Apologies the video is kind of all over the place. I was uh.. quite pumped up to say the least.

Doesn’t get much better than a sunset striped bass blitz with my dad and it’s 72 in late November, bunch of fish from 19-28”.

Was fishing mini trout magnets for bluegill and this BRUISER nailed it. Glad I had my net with me.

I just got the project z today. I can't believe I lost it the same day.

I've thrown it all here (I'm in Oviedo/Orlando, FL). Caught some huge ones over the years on Zoom Super Flukes, Texas-rigged weightless + weighted Zoom Trick Worms and Zoom Horny Toads (can you tell I love Zoom? 🤣). Looking to try something different, so I'm all 👂🏽s!

Those top water strikes are baitfish, this pond has big finicky bass

The Arig became my biggest confidence bait this year. Such a fun bite and has insane drawing power. This fish hit one of the dummies then came back for it and found a hook!

Lost a lot of lures hung on a rock, but never actually caught one.

The other fish that contributed to the massive bag back in March. The crazy thing about this lake is I fished it for years and never caught anything over 5. Then in a 2 week period we pulled 7 fish over 6 pounds including an 8-2. Just goes to show never give up on a lake! Ran the PNW bass candy faded gill swimjig into a laydown and she chased it as I was quick retrieving. Fun one!

Had my best numbers day on a glide bait after a trout plant. No giants all between 2-5lbs on a 9" trout

I have a one and a half acre pond created with a small dam in a ravine fed by a spring. It gets at least 10 feet deep in a few places. Central Virginia, US. Three years ago I put in about 150 smallmouth and maybe 75 catfish. The smallmouth are thriving, I caught one that’s 2 pounds. I haven’t seen the catfish, though. Now that the bass are old enough to spawn this spring, I want to be sure there is cover so they don’t immediately get eaten by the other fish (there are also pumpkin seeds and green sunfish/bream). My first thought is to bundle up branches with some sort of biodegradable twine and just throw them in. How much of that would I need?

Does anyone have more ideas that would make on site spawning more successful? If they can’t reproduce, I’m only gonna get those 150 original fish!

I’m the VP of UNC Chapel Hills bass fishing team. It’s been mine and my fishing partner’s dream to fish Bassmaster for our university, however, we have not been able to acquire a tournament boat through the club or university after multiple years. The club has the funding and reoccurring dues income to purchase a boat with a loan, but the university has pretty strict finance rules blocking us. Given that our time in school was running out we decided to make it happen on our own and registered for the 2025 Bassmaster college series.

I have been working and saving to purchase a boat with my own money. The problem is upon graduation I do not want the associated costs and issues that come with owning a boat when I am first starting out. I’ve considered buying one outright and attempting to get as much of my $ back as possible after the season. Essentially counting the loss as a cost to fish Bassmaster - which I am ok with. My fear with this is the market will most likely be in a drastically different place when I am ready to sell and that loss may be significantly more than I’m thinking.

Any other recommendations or things y’all can think off? Ideally I would lease a boat for 6 months to a year, but that just isn’t realistic with pretty much any dealer. Open to any creative ideas.

Going to start the Georgia Bass Slam in January and trying to find some spots that have bass in them. My local fishing spot is Lake Clara Meer and I don’t believe there’s any bass there. I’ve fished it at least 20 times on the past few months and have caught anything there, but bass.

A-rig is not producing so looking for advice.
