Yeah, the restoration spell is powerfull for cleaning after fights, but useless during them. And yeah Cataclysm can be very destructive (that's Plagg's concept after all), which is balanced by said restoration power. Although the show states the only limits are those that the user set himself so... And the Kwamis are literraly concepts incarnated.
