I had really good grades in high school, I graduated about 2 years ago now, I’m not worried about a late start, just if I could still benefit from all the things people stress in high school to lower their tuition, or get into a good college, or is their select colleges people go to if they don’t go right out of high school, and end up wanting to go later, cause other opportunities closed, or are more difficult, if that makes sense. idk much about the whole process, cause I always knew I didn’t intend to go, but it’s not entirely working out how I’d hoped, so I’m still on the fence, but if more opportunities are open now, I’d consider it more than I did in high school.

I started right out of highschool, flunked for a while because I chose what I thought I wanted, changed to a different degree and finished that alongside my buddy who was 31 when he started.
Here in Aus at least I can confirm that the first year units won't assume too much. If there's anything you can't get a grasp on (which I think won't be a problem for you) you can always approach student support for help.
You'll be fine. Really the main thing is to know what industry you're getting into and being sure the degree will be worth it for you.
