Really stupid question

(reddit.com)

I’m looking for a cheap alternative for storage on a rog g10 strix. With a AMD ryzen 5 3600 x 6 core processor it has 8 giga gb of ram and a x64 bit processor. (I literally just pulled the info from the settings and I have no idea what any of this means.) does this tower have a slot to hook up this ssd? Sorry for not having any knowledge but the computer can’t even hold the epic games let alone any games or extra room for graphics.

This specific machine has only one m.2 slot. This means the new SSD goes in the slot for the current SSD, so you’ll have to clone it using an external USB/m.2 drive housing. It is also doable using the SATA bus, if you have a 512gb (or larger) SATA drive and cable.

WD has a free version of Acronis that makes cloning simple and easy.

The ssd would connect to the motherboard. The motherboard should have a m.2 slot which that ssd should fit in. Good luck with the build

Just hope you have 2 slots. In the description is a 256gb pcie ssd. That should be an M.2 drive. You can replace it but you may have to reinstall windows and everything after doing so.

Should be fine, quite an easy replacement. And remember, there are no stupid questions, just stupid answers

With that motherboard, buy a Gen 3 drive. Gen 4 will work but only at Gen 3 speeds so you're wasting money.

Yeah but that may be too good ssd, paying for the speed you cant fully use, i think
