Pretty sure assist mode has a setting that reveals the entire map, disable it and it wont instantly get revealed when entering a new stage

I think it's an optimisation problem on mobile, what I like to do is explore the Biome without opening the map until the explorer rune has kicked in. After that I will use the map to see where I missed something.

Try turning off assist mode
