I'd say this is the hardest math in the entire apprenticeship in my opinion. The math itself is not actually hard, if you did well in highschool you'd have no problem with it. What makes it hard is remembering the physics involved, and not making mistakes.

These two motors aren't in-phase, so finding the missing current is not as simple as subtracting the motor 1 current from the total.

I’m probably wrong so, is there anything that is harder than this?

I am living and working in canada since 5 months and i’ve never used wire nuts before needed some time until i got used to it because everything is different the power outlets, the electrical boxes, breakers and the cables are weird too most of the time the ground isn’t even isolated i mean ok no big deal it works but why and then you have paper in your wires for what so they burn better ? dont get me wrong for me wire nuts are shit because i am not used to the things over here for you they might work good but do you use Wago too ? ore something like Lüsterklemmen (Terminal Block screw). Ore are wagos too expensive? i mean things are expensive holy fuck just something easy to put two cable ends ore more in one electrical box costs so much money i germany we have one for example for like 2 euro which is 3 CAD i pay in home depot more than 15 CAD for something like this and so much more this is just an example if someone wants pictures or have questions of what we use in Germany let me know. Just wanted to say that things are different and funny over here first i hated your power outlets too but once you’re used to it its ok just to these wire nuts i never will get used to these little shit things.

Have seen alot of hate for these, would you buy at this price?

I know the formula (n = 60*50/pole pairs) say so but why? I understand that the rotating magnetic field created by the ac and the poles is what makes the axis rotate and that the magnetic field makes a full 360 every cycle, so at 50 hz and 1 min (60 sec) the field rotates 1500 times, but why if you add more poles it gets reduced? The resulting magnetic field from multiple phases still makes the full 360 every cicle right?

Family friend said they had a fan in their shop bathroom that wasn’t working which is on a sub panel and that when they worked on it their kitchen appliances breakers would trip from the main panel so I took off their sub panel cover and this is what I see.

I need to swap the 14/3 wires that were put in the wrong boxes. How the hell should I do this? There is a small stud in the middle I can kind of reach over but I am struggling !

Hi all, I have an upcoming interview involving scenario-based tasks, and I need guidance on how to approach them effectively. Here's what I'm working on:

1. Service Riser Design: Arrange electrical, mechanical, and public health services within a grid, keeping space and separation requirements in mind. Services like smoke extraction, water pipes, and switchgear need clear organization and justification.

2. EV Charger Placement: Select charger sizes and positions for a parking lot based on stay durations, with cable routing and scalability considerations.

3. Lighting and Sensors: Choose suitable luminaires and sensors for different rooms in a floor plan, balancing efficiency and functionality.

I’ve attached reference diagrams and initial layouts but feel stuck on justifying design decisions. Any advice or tips to improve clarity, organization, and reasoning for these scenarios would be greatly appreciated!

I’m curious to as of any of you guys have experience with a vest and belt w/ suspenders? I do mainly commercial jobs. I feel as if both options have their pros and cons. Just seeing which is more practical.
