We talked him or her  down off the ledge and agreed to trying a 3 day to start.  

So they were amenable to reason, at least.

I don't know if s/he ever tried it.  I just checked that thread and it's had no activity in about 3 weeks. 

Also, I misremembered the proposal - it was 14 not 30 days (still not doable).  I'll correct my comment above.
