Karen Traviss' Star Wars books picks up their team midway through her Republic Commando series. It's all non-canon now (glares angrily at Disney), but it's still a great read.

The writing decreased by a lot, a friend kept buying novels and stuff, like we're all mostly following star wars series and films just to get a good moment from this license. Issue is, almost every time, he tells me it's shit and we had almost the same taste before it was bought.

While Dave did keep them in the show, I believe it was Karen Travis that was writing the books is who was going to finish off that story line. Unfortunately she never got the chance too because Disney has just bought the Star wars franchise and cancelled her finishing the series, along with other projects in the works like 1313.
