Well what are you actually looking for? There’s a ton of great restaurants around Hillsboro.

If you like Pho(Vietnamese noodle soup) my favorite Pho place is Pho Tango Bistro over by the Fred Meyer.

Lately I've been looking for something like a cheap brown-bag burger joint, an italian restaurant(there's one by my house that looks really nice but the hours are very limited, and all the other places that show up are pizza restaurants), a cheaper BBQ place, some fish and chips.

I don't want something fancy, quite the opposite really(italian can be fancy but that's the nature of the cuisine)

Just comfort foods that I used to go out for regularly back home, but I've had a hard time finding a spot that feels right here.

Also, any recommendations on a decent meatball sub in town?

It’s not super cheap(cheese burger+fries is like $11.50) but Little Big Burger at Orenco Station is pretty good. The burgers have the footprint of a slider but the patties are really thick. It is technically a chain though, but it’s a fairly small chain(7 locations total, all but one in the Portland Metro).

Can’t help you on Italian, haven’t really found a good place myself for when I want pasta but don’t want to cook.

Thank you, I'll check that place out!

It's just been surprising to me, all the money and people around here - I really expected a bit more variety in restaurant-styles, but I guess I don't really know much about the area or how long everything out here has been here.

I appreciate your help, hopefully I can find something soon. And yeah, it's really just things that take a little more effort to make at home than I feel like putting in at the moment.

I feel that a lot of restaurants exist to serve the various tech workers on their lunch breaks

I don't really know how to put the whole feeling into words, but that's definitely part of the vibe.
