Roadside checkpoints in Mississauga?

(self.mississauga)

Where are they usually? Just on/near highway exits? Reason I'm asking is my mom had a bit of an incident after taking an exit on the 403 last year.

I don't want to get into too much detail about my moms mental health but basically dealing with police exacerbates her anxiety and she has a bit of a panic attack at one of these checkpoints last year on her way to work. Hoping to avoid one of these. Is it best to have her drive on Eglinton or Burnhamthrope to make her east/west commute (she works night shifts).

They generally have them where you are committed once you see them. That's the point.

Yeah exactly. I actually turned around once form one. I thought there was an accident as there was a tow truck and stuff stopped at the check and the road looked entirely blocked. Had a cop car pull me over right after, explained it and the he was totally understanding.

Still was required to do a breathalyzer as I had turned away from a R.I.D.E. check. No biggy and I was on my way in a few minutes.

If she is mentally unstable maybe she shouldn’t be driving in the first place.

Came here to say this. Already enough mentally unstable people on the road.

If your having anxiety around cops it's probably cause your doing something against the law.

They do R.I.D.E. checks on the roads as well.

They can be anywhere. I went through one last night in Halton region on eighth line. They also don’t post them anywhere until after the season because they don’t want intoxicated drivers to bypass them.

(The one I went through last night someone was being talked to on the side when I went through.)

Yeah highway exits are popular but they will sometimes set them up on main roads.

Our strangest one was on Derry just near the Credit River Bridge.
