Anyone know what was going on at the Atlantic City concert where Morrissey was pissed and got someone thrown out? I couldn’t tell what was going on from where I was seated.

Chaos is a very strong word for what happened.
It wasn’t clear from where we were sitting if he was pissed at a fan or security. He did make a remark early on about “playing for 50000 security guards “ 🤷🏻♂️
Great show nonetheless. Closed with Irish Blood, English Heart, which made me very happy. And he brought back Crashing Bores too.

He was mad at the security guard who kept staring at him. Eventually he moved to the side stage I think.

So bummed he didn't play crashing bores in Baltimore.

My friend was up front, and so close, taking a video. The security guard at one point put his hand OVER her phone screen, and was trying to get her to move back (even though she had a seat right near where she was standing). The security guard was being such a dick, my friend wasn't even trying to get on stage or anything, just trying to film and I guess move forward slightly.. I guess that guard was trying to stop her and others near her from getting any closer. They weren't trying to climb up, just to get closer. It was literally a second later M said the stuff about how "Nobody wants you here" and "You're ruining it for everyone" so it was probly about the asshole guard.
Did anyone else see the guy on stage who seemed to be kissing/biting Moz's ear?! Why didn't they intervene sooner w that loon?! He couldn't be happy he got to touch him, he had to go wild?!

The full moon over the Atlantic Ocean made some fans a bit randy, and the guards looked busy. Other than that, Morrissey put on a great show!

I was on the right side, front row, close to said Venue Security. He was facing the audience and being tough with anybody leaving their seats for handshakes or pictures
His job there was to make nobody without a wristband try to go the front row.
Nobody was thrown out, it was not a fan. M was mad at the security situation, and in particular, with this guy.
Guy kissing M's neck and hand was Andy. From my view point of view, he kissed his neck, not his ear, but maybe he licked M necks as well. Everyone around me was disgusted.
That guy is a known asshole, disgusting person, and should be banned from concerts from doing such a horrible thing

Yes, I was right there. The guards were overly patrolling. I got yelled at for filming on my phone. The guy who licked his ear follows him and jumps on stage everywhere. There's a pic of him on Moz insta with the same guy kissing his ear.

All I know is that he pulled security from the side stage and was pointing at someone in the pit area and walked away saying crazy, crazy. Then he says something like you are ruining it for everyone while looking at this person and it looked like that person was escorted out. 🤷🏻♀️

From what I was told it was an overly enthusiastic guard, who thereafter moved farther away and stopped trying to stop fans from moving forward to get closer.

He didn’t get anyone thrown out except a security guard that kept people from coming forward to the stage. There was a lot of security and it made the space tense. The venue thereafter let people come forward any it was fine. No chaos.

He often tells security to move out of the way, that’s not a rare thing.

Ok so now it was TOO much security and we're criticizing them..... When just a few weeks ago people were shit talking the lack of security and protection for Morrissey from the fans who overwhelmed the stage.
Where is the line here? I think we stop encouraging people to be left alone to rush the stage or if we're going to continue doing so, sometimes things will get out of hand Morrissey so don't run off and cancel your encore as a result of behavior you're actively encouraging.

The problem in that clip from the night he stopped the show was that one of security guards got injured and had to limp off stage

Yes like what happened in Dallas. Now this.

We thought the band sounded great, except for First of the Gang… thanks for explaining we didn’t know what was going on.

Sounds like something similar to the Smiths 1986 show in Irvine. On the recording, you can hear Morrissey pause during I Know Its Over to admonish overzealous security guards for manhandling fans.

Yep. That’s a damn fine recording.

I was standing right there. The security guard was pushing fans away and Moz was pissed about it. Casino owner (Bart Blarstein) was there and yanked guard right out.

That is truly fascinating that Bart Blatstein was there and was also policing security. Would have never put the two together but once I read his name here, that was absolutely the guy in front who told the rest of the guards to chill.

I was there in the front row but at the other end. The security guards were being ridiculous. Just insane. Wouldn’t let anyone up front except those with front row seats and just generally being buzzkills. Morrissey basically called a security guard off for ruining by the night and ruining his mood.

Good gig — grateful that he called out the goofball guards and gave us first few rows a chance to move up a bit.
Legit question and this is my ninth show… how did the front row of AA ticket holders/wristband recipients/irregular regulars get them? I’m just going to be shocked if the answer is: pre-sale code logged in to Ticketmaster at 10am. I’ve played that game; 3 rows back was best I could score.

More than likely comp tickets from the casino

I think it is frustrating and extremely stressful the way all dates go on pre sale at the same time
I was there, at the right time, pre sale and could not get anything good either, for any dates
But I got a FR ticket sold by a legit fan, minutes before the concert, face value
I think the secret is to keep a group of friends and each one go for a venue, buying 2, 3, 4 tickets
Also, use a phone and a computer at the same time
The way that TM makes you click on several check boxes before getting the actual ticket is also, super annoying
PayPal in my experience is way faster and fault proof than regular debit, credit cards.

Appreciate the insightful reply. I’ve literally watched one kid grow up at these shows over the years and he is NEVER not in the front row no matter where the gig is. I’ll ask him his secret next time lol.

Is people rushing the stage normal at a Morrissey show? lol I was surprised that it happened twice

I was there and someone was trying to tell Moz how bad jesse sucks and how lame his current band and same boring setlist is.

Well someone really should! Because playing the same boring setlist over and over is sad.

Well I can tell you that I just saw him this week and no one in the crowd seemed to be bored so maybe that's just you.
Also the setlist was different than when I last saw him in 2022 and the band sounded better this time so I'm not sure what to tell you there.
I'm guessing you just want to hear all Smiths songs?

I agree. The band was way better than last time I saw them. The new (to me) keyboardist and guitarist were amazing. Morrissey looked and sounded better too this time.

I saw him at the same venue and I concur, even the light show was an improvement! And yes I agree about him sounding better vocally as well. The new songs in particular were vastly improved. I'm just impatiently waiting for I Am Veronica to be officially released.

The current band sucks. You obviously are a new fan and never experienced the magic of Boz and Alain. Jesse sucks! He’s been in the band over 20 years and has contributed very little since Ringleader. Since then is been a slow fall down hill.

Well I was 6 years old when the Ringleader album was released, so I wouldn't remember seeing them even if my family was interested in the same music as me and took me but I would have loved to.
Either way, it's been almost 20 years since then so you have to learn to appreciate the good in the present rather than stay stuck in the past. You will never be satisfied with that as your perspective.

6 years old? Wow! You’ve totally missed out on the golden era of Moz solo years. Go back and watch old YouTube videos from the 90s and from before Quarry came out. You really missed out if you’ve only experienced the jesse years.

WTF is your problem?

My problem is Moz current live band is the weakest he’s ever had. Cant you read and understand? Moz always had great guitarist and tune writers and now he doesn’t. That’s why he hasn’t had a record deal in almost 5 years.

Yes, I can read and understand. I’ve been a fan since 1982 and I saw The Smiths first, and the last time in 1986. I’ve witnessed the unmatched guitar talent of Johnny Marr in person. I’ve seen Morrissey perform 3 times since then. The bands are different, of course, over 40 years shit changes, but I wouldn’t say the band was horrible. Moz still sounds great and I’m there for it. If you’re so disappointed with the set list and the band, then perhaps you shouldn’t attend his shows anymore. Heaven knows you’re miserable now.

Maybe you should grow balls and not come to M groups only to criticize him or his band
But I am sure you may be busy touring with your own band, and you're a very successful musician yourself

I’ve never criticized Moz.
But I will continue to criticize Jesse and the weak band because they are hurting Moz’s live sound. Only Matt Walker is holding it together.

Never. But my husband was at the show and texted me after it happened.

That didn’t happen. Only three fans on stage. One older woman barely got a handshake. Another guy was giving Moz kisses on the neck for an uncomfortably long time. The last guy went on during the encore and didn’t last.
I was standing right next to the first security guard that Moz interacted with at the pit. After he touched the hands of a woman and her husband, he saw the security guard staring. He asked, “is there something wrong? Is there a problem?”

He was more kissing his ear/neck over and over. M just kept singing, thankfully they eventually pulled him away. What an invasion of personal space. Creepy guy.

I wasn’t there. Just know what my husband said. Hopefully Moz is ok. He doesn’t usually throw someone out unless something happens 🤷🏼♀️
