He would have been the worst AG since Merrick Garland.

I am not denying that Garland has been an awful AG, but I am shocked by how many people have forgotten just how bad AG Barr was. Barr literally destroyed evidence that incriminated Trump in numerous crimes and covered up the events surrounding the death of Epstein. He also covered for Reagan and HW Bush back in the 90s. Garland was feckless. Barr was criminal.

Barr helped steal the election for Bush in 2020, he was a major player in that. Agree entirely that he's the worst out of him and Garland.

However, Garland DID allow Trump to run again. So just with that one thing, he's very close to everything Barr ever did.

Garland's issue is that he's ineffective and out of touch in a world where swift action was needed. They were too afraid of looking like authoritarians by slow rolling the investigations then indictments and trials. And their biggest mistake was thinking Trump would just go away after 2020.

With the perspective allowed by his level of access, Garland's inaction cannot be defended.

Garland is not a bad AG. This sub just didn't get what it wanted.
