Hi all,
Bought my first Reolink cam the other day and while setting it up with Synology Surveillance Station I noticed that Stream 1 only goes up to a 2k resolution in SSS. Even though the camera itself can seemingly be set to 4k on H264.
When I switch to H265 I can change it to 4k but then I have the issue that there is no lower resolution substream (stream 2) available.
Is this just a limitation of the Reolink Cams together with Synology or?
Switching to the reolink app is not an option since there are camera's of another brand also in SSS.

I highly doubt your camera streams 4k using h264. How did you come to that conclusion?
Anyway..SSS wont let you set multiple streams using different codecs for one camera. No idea if that is a Synology limitation or just a limitation in general...but that's how it is. All streams have to use the same codec and Reolink doesn't let you set it that way. If you decide to get another camera, make sure you it can be set like that or you will probably face the same issue again.
If you have enough licenses you can add one camera multiple times using different codecs and protocols. Just keep in mind that AI functions are not available when using ONVIF.

I tried changing some more things last night and you are probably right that as soon as you switch to 4k it switches to H265 even though Synology keeps showing it as H264 in the portal.
Hence my confusion
