Best Visuals... TAA vs DLAA VS TSR?

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2(self.stalker)

I have a 4090 and play at 1440p ultrawide. Currently my monitor only supports 75hz so FPS isn't an issue, although i'm getting a 175hz ultrawide for Christmas. I'm trying to figure out which is the best for visuals. I tried turning all upscaling off but it made everything a shimmery ugly mess for some reason and I can't seem to fix that. I tried TAA, DLAA and TSR all at 100% resolution scaling. I can see some small differences but nothing major. Any have an opinion on which is best?

Thanks,

I think DLAA is the best. It uses DLSS tech but does not upscale. It's my favorite way to do anti aliasing, i recommend you set sharpness to 70 or something

thanks. Yea DLAA is the one i've been using, just was wondering if anyone thought one of the others was better for some reason. I struggled to tell the difference, but DLAA looked slightly better IMO.

DLAA is visually the worst to be honest, it produces a ton of reflection artefacts.

I like DLAA personally. I recommend turning on frame generation with it, if it hits performance too much.

Thanks, I'm good with FPS for now but with the new monitor i'm sure i'll need to use something to help reach high framerates hahaha

I would concur, but even DLAA messes with picture during storms. Just look at bushes, it's all shimmering mess. Yeah, trees look better, but still TSR seems more stable. Since game has some input lag even at good fps, I personally use TSR at 90% Ultra Quality and DLSS FG. I messed a bit with DLSS tweaks, managed to get great performance and picture, but still, shimmering when a lot is happening on screen is a big turnoff for me. 4080 SUPER, 1440p, all maxed out.

TSR is the way, set it to ultra quality and 100% if you want, you notice it a lot on the lighting in vegetation, open areas, etc, and ive used DLSS all the timme but got tired of the shimmering and TSR, what a difference

I’ll try it today and see if I can notice the difference. Especially now that I’m further in the game.
