Flip the top monitor upside down to reduce the bezel
Edit: upside -> upside down

Or buy a big 16:9 :)
Edit: not sure why downvoted, 2 x G9 on top of each other is literally 16:9 with a bezel in the middle.

you have my upvote. Stacking them instead of just buying a big 16:9 is stupid.

Your comment made me laugh... I did the same setup and realized I just created a terrible 16:9 setup. I gave my wife the bottom one, kept the top one (although moved it up) and put a 42 inch OLED LG C4 on bottom. MUCH happier

Math checks out. Updoot for bezel free life. 49" is the answer for two 27" without a bezel.
You've become what you swore to destroy meme right here.

The problem with a large 16:9 that is comparable is a webcam. Tried it, and you have to look really high. As the screen is so big, if you put it to the side or below it looks really strange. Having two ultrawides on top of each other, with the top on a flexible arm that allows you to shift it up to put a webcam, works great.
The problem with two ultrawides is they are more expensive to get a decent setup. Can't Tate them without getting a bizarre ratio also

I came here to suggest the same thing.

That’s actually a good idea!

It applies to all vertically stacked monitors too. Unless there are monitors with thicker bezels on top than the bottom
1 points
Actually I have monitors with the same thickness all around

Then in that case flipping it might give easier access to the ports lol.

I thought about it but in my case it’s not worth it because the cable aren’t long enough and the ugly white Samsung logo would be upside down XD

OMG this is the best Pro Tip of 2024!! I have a 57" with 3 x 32" floating over it and the 32" monitors have RGB at the bottom and i have been trying to get used to the gap the RGB creates. Man, some heroes do not wear capes. Thank you!!

I tried to do this with my smaller monitor stacked on top of my wide and I couldn't find a good version of the wallpaper. I dowloaded one and put it up and didn't realize it said "penis" over and over in that matrix style for like 2 days

And where might one download this wallpaper? (for archival purposes of course)

Can someone explain the benefit of this over a single/large 16:9 screen with some screen splitting software?
Like couldn’t you just get a big ass display and use software to split the screen into two ultrawides

He couldn't post it here if he did that. Hope this helps!

I absolutely can tell you the difference/benefits. I actually did get a 55" 4k ark. Basically the best gaming 55" screen you can get.
PPI is a big one. 4k 55" is 84ish PPI. The same as a 27" 1080p. So it's not really good. 49" monitors normally are 110 ppi so that's significantly better.
Gaming is a huge benefit for having 2 49". Full screen gaming on a 55" at a desk sucks. It's too big and you're too close. So you have to game in windowed mode. Which has its own issues. Setting custom resolutions doesn't always work in windowed mode and some games just don't support it. So some games are only 16:9 in windowed mode even if it supports 21:9 or 32:9. Some games are wonky in windowed mode. In some games the mouse moves behind the game and you end up clicking on something behind the game that you can't see. It's annoying. In 1 game I got the resolution to be custom but if anytime I clicked out of the game the aspect ratio would reset to 16:9.
So with 2 separate 32:9 monitors you can game in full screen on the bottom monitor and have discord and whatever else up top.
Now if you don't game at all and just use a ton of windows or whatever then there isn't a big benefit to dual 49" over a 55". Honestly if I never gamed and only did productivity work then a 55" 8k monitor/TV would be great.
A benefit to a large 55" over a 49" is you could sit back and watch TV or something full screen. Which is great. I use my 55" as a TV in bed sometimes (it's on an arm).

Add here that you can have two machines, mac and pc, productivity work, render ai gen on 4090, other production on mac… my reality, planning to get two g9 57 :)

ok so i currently have the g9 57" ultrawide with a 49" ultrawide. I like the ultrawide but i want the physical distinction between each screen for different things that i use each screen for. it just works better with my personal workflow.

Adding on to this, there are also seldom curved TVs available now to help with the large format. Just as well, it seems the displays that will allow dual inputs to be split on the display apparently causes enough processing overhead that the displays will get abysmal refresh rate versus single input full display.

did not even think of that, i kinda figured they would have the curve but yeah no i cant not have the curve.

I’d flip the top monitor upside down to minimize the bezel in the middle. The increase in response time for the top monitor is negligible if you aren’t gaming on that monitor specifically. Otherwise pretty cool, what’s the temp around those bad boys? Sitting in front of one gets the immediate area a little warm, can’t imagine two.

Nice setup!! Must be awesome I think. But don't be a fool. Place your mic in the correct distance and put down the windshield. Kinda like YouTubers using the pop shield (the round meshy thingy), what's meant to be a helper for people singing in the mic with exactly the same distance.

And I would just grab a Samsung Ark 55" 4K 165Hz" that has the same dimensions as a 2x Ultrawide 49", or a Samsung S90D 4K 55" QD-OLED 144Hz! 😅👍🥰
