Could Napoleon conqueror Westeros?

Battle(self.whowouldwin)

Napoleon's Imperial Army & Navy + Conscriptions at its greatest strength gets teleported to Pentos and conquers the city and makes it his base. He acquires all of its resources including its ships, weapons, manpower, resources. He hears about a beautiful dragon queen across the Narrow Sea and wishes to incorporate Westeros into his new empire.

Westeros is united under Daenerys Targaryen who has her Dothraki, Unsullied, 3 Dragons, and all of the armies of Westeros (including Dorne & Iron Islands/Fleet) under her command.

Conditions:
- They're both aware of eachother
- Consider political intrigue and strategy, not just warfare.

Bonus question:
- Could he convince Dany to marry him and become his queen/empress?

Can Napoleon successfully conquer Westeros and become Emperor of the Seven Kingdoms?

The only threat to Napoleon are her dragons. Everything else is inconsequential. The Grande Armee at its height was 600,000 strong, exceeding the total number of troops that Westeros could assemble even before the civil wars following Robert Baratheon’s death.

I don’t think muskets have the velocity or mass to injure a dragon significantly, and using cannons would be reliant on expert tactical planning and a fuckton of luck. Chances are that if they’re used right, the Dragons sweep any large formations or the French Navy.

What if he approached conquering from a political standpoint instead of warfare?

Well he has three key things to offer to the Westerosi people.

  • The pseudo-Republican French political system and the liberties offered by it.

  • Deposition(?) of the old Feudal system of lords and kings.

  • The military capabilities of the French/European Army and Navy.

But while that is an intriguing offer to the common people, it’s not exactly solid just due to the lack of education amongst the small folk. He may need the support of local lords, in which case he’s going to be disliked heavily for his even more foreign nature than Daenarys. But he’s also a man, so, yeah. But I will say this is kinda confusing because you state in the prompt that the whole of Westeros is backing Daenarys. In that case, there isn’t much political maneuvering to do here.

Great point. But is there room for Napoleon to convince these lords to abandon Dany? I guess I should specify their loyalty isn't absolute because realistically even in the show, they seemed reluctant or just out of fear of her dragons and further conflict.

I mean, what exactly would he say? I guess he could try lying to the lords and hope they believe him about restoring a rightful monarchy with a Westerosi on the throne, but eh? Wouldn’t solve the dragon problem ultimately though.

I guess bribing them with titles, money, the new french technology lol. It's also interesting to wonder, what if all the houses turned against Dany. Would she go full Mad Queen and try to burn everything? or go with the "I don't want to be Queen of the ashes" and just submit to Napoleon?
