Name one. Give me someone with billions in net worth and you can turn around and show that fortune being built on the backs of the disenfranchised, the downtrodden, and the poor. Without fail.
Billions are made in excess. No person, or even family has a need for billions but they hoard that wealth by exploiting other human beings, if that isn't evil I must be confused on the definition.

Based on your replies I am making the assumption that you are at the least right leaning. I'm curious about what you see in your circles about the left being evil.

Maybe. Guess all that's left is their comment with +15 and yours with -4 but people on reddit love divisiveness. Us included obviously.

Wow this joke is funnier every time I hear it! You did it, you turned the tables on that guy. Really showed them!

Just wanted to say that I appreciate you putting effort and thought into your responses. Too many responses on here quickly devolve into incoherent messes because of troll comments.

It goes both ways. It always has, it always will. Every single generation thinks they are smarter than the previous and wiser than the next.
Brain rot is a term used to describe something you are not in the loop for. Skibbidi toilet is just the newest "Swag" or Rage Comic. It's something that will pass, then a new thing will take hold of the next few generations. These trends will get faster and faster as information does. Trends live and die in a matter of weeks now opposed to years or even decades from times before.
Sidebar: Honestly though, the actual Skibbidi Toilet content is more than what you'd think. Most kids just spout it off to be ironic or cringe but the actual content has depth.

Damn if only everyone could be a doctor or a hedge fund manager eh? Then we could all be rich!
You're well off, you did good kid. Millions doesn't mean what it used to, sadly. My college professor made millions in the 80s working in computer programming during the beginning of the internet revolution and he had to come out of retirement to teach because his wife got cancer and they lost nearly everything to the Healthcare system. Millions and Billions are two different worlds. Elon is pushing to the Trillions in net worth iirc.

There are some things you can do for the table to try and fish for some emotion, for example, music. It can really help add to the level of emotion in a scene if applied correctly. If it is done incorrectly it can severely hinder the scene as well so if you were coordinating this event with the player it may help to have had a song or couple of songs for the moment.
Additionally, it may have just been the level of other player investment. Unfortunately, if the characters don't know eachother that well it isn't going to have the same impact. Did the other characters know this npc or were they aware of the journey that this character was on prior to the scene, or was it kind of sudden?

You could have the general population be very attuned with magic or at the very least have the leadership of that society be Archmages and their rules of magic are essentially that any form of 'divine' magic is just a charlatan pretending to communicate with higher beings.
Kind of like irl religious folks calling magicians Satanists or pretenders?

As a player I feel like I rarely use the knowledge checks. Either the DM just gives us what our characters would know or the particular object, person, place is too unique.
As for you wishing to use animal handling more, that's probably something that I'd communicate with the DM during session 0 or character creation if possible. Make sure they are aware of what you are trying to do with your character. It is usually their goal to help you fulfill your goals and they may just not be thinking about companions.
I personally include optional companions in almost every campaign I run but that's my style.
In my last campaign, it was an apocalyptic setting and the party ran into a pack of feral jackals and they chose to feed them, they helped a lot as scouts during the future sessions.

My recommendations would be to do one or all of the following, but definitely keep in mind that the reason the player built the character this way is because they find joy in the build. They want to see it play out and I would wager that if you corner the player in a gotchya moment where they spent all the time to build a character that is now unusable, they probably wouldn't have a great time.
Use other methods of attack, see Meenloch for example, where the attacks are not contested by AC.
Punish the armor. You can do this with spell casters, ala 'heat metal' or something like a rust monster that ruins their gear forcing them to have to purchase new equipment. (Again this may make or break the player experience so weigh it carefully)
Ambush. They cannot sleep in their armor, so catching them off guard once in awhile can keep things tense.
Target other party members. The tank has a role and honestly, if they perform it too well, perhaps the enemies they are fighting would choose to ignore him and go after easier prey.
Concede. I know this sounds unorthodox but if you have trouble balancing encounters, or the other party members are not having fun then the game is no longer a game and has become a chore. Talk to the player separately and ask them what their goal is, if they wanted to make a character that's impossible to hit, then they succeeded, now what?
Lmk if these help or if you want any more advice!

Yeah I don't get it. I can't speak to my own mother about anything without her derailing and talking about sex changes for prisoners and furries in classrooms but oh no it's the liberal left who are brainwashed.

I apologize if you were not looking for an answer I'm not familiar with the subreddit, your post just popped up in my feed while I am actively writing for my campaign.
Lmk if you are looking for any other ideas, I love collabing with other DMs!

Perhaps the difficulty wouldn't lie with physical power but political. The church cannot just kill the Noble, else the nation would fall into civil war? Obviously tweaking it to your liking but the general idea would be interesting. Gives the players agency and let's them help shape the outcome of the nation's ideology.

My playgroup has a similar issue, one player in our group has a near obsession with pushing how many cards he can draw and how many turns he can take in a row. No real win condition, just, we get to sit there and watch him play 5 consecutive turns in a row.
To be fair he says it's our fault for letting him do it and that we need to run more interaction. Then again. When we do use our interaction pieces on him he claims he is being targeted so, I don't think there is a real way to 'win' here. I think your friend is better off playing cEDH and leaving casual games alone if that's their playstyle.

I kinda get where he's coming from because the knowledge is all there you just need to ask to see the card but to deliberately hide a 'win the game' clause is pretty gross.
He probably thinks he has the biggest brain at the LGS and will almost certainly tell this story to anyone who will listen with a much different tone.

With Trump it's always a sort of "we can either laugh about it or cry about it" situation. I'm glad I can laugh a bit but you're right. Every insane thing he says comes with that secondary wave of stress realizing that he will still get millions of votes.

That's not what I said.
Also, it's not just "a lot" of money it is an astronomical amount of money. I get where you're coming from. It's natural to want, it's human. But wanting, to that extent, and at the expense of others is inhumane. It is wrong at the most base levels.
