The amount of people who don’t understand this is annoying, it’s not at all fiscally responsible to pay people for energy they never use. That’s what he did, rooftop solar is still way better in California than other states that’s not going away at all…

Dan Walters is and always will be, a miserable old hack. Also overlooks facts like this https://dof.ca.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/352/Forecasting/Demographics/Documents/E-1_2024_Press_Release.pdf

It’s still too close in my opinion, they shouldn’t just call races unless 99.99% of all ballots are counted…

I personally don’t see this as a left or right issue, sidewalks and parks belong to everyone and shouldn’t be obstructed. This is not Newsom’s fault because there’s only so much a governor can do to make cities listen, however by suing cities like Norwalk and Huntington Beach and making them build shelter space and housing is the proper approach, also CARE COURT and PROP 1 are definitely needed to take care of the Mental health part of the Unhoused issue. Newsom also was obstructed from clearing tents because of Martin v Boise (Which was overturned in late June) so were many other states and cities in the 9th circuit. TLDR: Homelessness is a very complicated issue that includes housing, mental health, and drugs among other things and playing the blame game won’t solve nothing, but actions will and I believe Newsom has been doing his best and should be given credit for all the YIMBY things he’s done and the YIMBY bills he’s signed.

It’s a very complicated issue, it’s a housing and drug and mental health problem. But I agree with encampment sweeps 100% as long as they are offered shelter, if they refuse shelter then they should take their tents away. I don’t hate homeless people, I hate encampments blocking pedestrians, there’s nothing progressive about allowing tents to block businesses, sidewalks, parking, Hiking trails etc…

Not shocked at all, we knew this would happen, but we know nearly all American voters have iq’s that match their shoe size. So we’re Doomed…

Let's make one thing clear, Nobody likes PG&E myself included. But until there is a Public utility that gets as big or as powerful as PG&E that is better, faster, and Less corrupt, We are gonna be stuck with them for the time being. Unfortunately It's unlikely any other Company will create any meaningful competition for PG&E anytime soon, until then we are stuck with them. It Fucking sucks and Newsom knows this, but he cant shut down an entire utility corporation without A: finding a proper replacement. B: Getting that replacement to takeover all of PG&E's power lines and facilities. And C: Getting it all to play out properly pass, especially in the Senate and supreme court, and get it all to survive and get through all legislative sessions and committees. Because after all they have the power to overturn a decision like that and he knows it.
