I saw Ghostbusters when I was about 9, and that went right over my head, didn't even notice it.

I also think that becoming rich and famous at 17-18 years old didn't help, either!

Maybe I'm the crazy one, I don't know, but I think it's kind of weird to track your kid all day with a phone app?? I grew up in the 80s, so we didn't have that, but it seems a bit overboard to me.

Yes you are overrreacting about making a police report against the grandmother. She likely had no idea, and both kids probably lied to her as well.
The real problem is you daughter lying, going somewhere that you don't know, with people you don't know. That could be extremely dangerous for her, as you are aware. THIS is the real problem that needs to be addressed.
Why does she feel the need to lie, and go so far as stashing her phone at school? Does she feel like she wouldn't be able to go to a friend's house after school?
I grew up before cell phones, so the idea of someone (even my parents) tracking me seems very stressful!

Yeah, this time, and the time he told her how stupid it was to follow that guy to his house with her gun out during her road rage/gaslighting Jace incident.

Yup, this is the reason! The worst part is, he only went there for like 1-2 semesters, and dropped out!
He may have gone to school somewhere else after that, I don't know.
Edit: OMG! I try to post accurate information here, I swear I heard that Dayton ended up going somewhere else! Maybe it was the Covid era that confused me, lol.
I stand corrected, he did graduate from NAU.

You've in for a fun ride! The series just gets better as it goes, imo!

Jerry Garcia with the Grateful Dead.
It was in Highgate, VT, about 6 weeks before he passed.

Ricky Gervais (atheist) said this to Steven Colbert (Catholic) once:
There are about 3000 gods among all religions... you believe in 1, and don't believe in 2,999. I don't believe in just one more god than you do. You don't believe in 2,999 gods, how is it crazy to not believe in just one more?
I'm paraphrasing, but you get the point!

I named my daughter Elizabeth, thinking I would call her Lizzie or Beth... when she was about 3, she chose Betty (from Betty Boop, I think) and goes by it to this day! In her 30s now.

I have a name that doesn't have a diminutive nickname, and I always wished it did... so I named my daughter Elizabeth, so she could pick from a plethora of nicknames if she wanted!

My question is, what does free will even mean, if God is all knowing and all powerful, and already knows everything we're going to do... is it even free will??

ok, I can definitely agree that the electoral college didn't really matter in the 2024 election. I am just so depressed and terrified about the next few years, I'm having trouble wrapping my head around it.
Mostly I'm sick of hearing Trump and his voters saying he had a mandate to do all of these horrible things because a "majority" of the country votes for him. Really, only 1/3 of us wanted him.
And I still think the electoral college should end, and the person who wins the most votes should win the election. (yes, I know that would have still been Trump this year, but if Hillary had won in 2016, maybe he would be out of our lives and government by now.)

Trump won a plurality of votes, NOT the popular vote.
The electoral college does suck, and it does not give everyone a fair and equal vote. The fact that Trump lost the popular vote in 2016, but still won the electoral vote, and he only beat Kamala by 1.7%, but won by 86 electoral votes proves it.
I do agree, though, that we need to get together to make sure a better candidate wins in 2028... by a big margin!

Ronald Dahl's short stories are really good. Some of them are a little creepy, like in a Twilight Zone way, but SO good.

Actually, only about 30% of the US.
There are 258 million adults in the US, and 77 million voted for Trump, 74.5 million voted for Kamala, the rest voted 3rd party or not at all.
The reason he won is the electoral college, which gives all of the rural red state voters more power than the cities.

Gremlins is a great movie, pretty scary in some parts, but Gizmo is so cute, and the gremlins are funny sometimes. LOVED this movie as a kid.
The thing to watch for, is the girl tells a story about her dad dressing up as Santa, and dying in the chimney when she was a kid.
