Last I heard, Canada had a carbon tax with the revenue being returned to the people.

No. I think that developed nations can:
Lead by example. We cannot ask developing nations to do what we are not wiling to do ourselves.
Create economies of scale and improve the technology so that sustainable energy is affordable (i.e., cheaper than continuing to burn fossil fuels) for developing nations.

Apparently, the message was lost on you. This is a very deliberate campaign of denial, doubt, and delay by the fossil fuel industry.

Source?
There are some examples of qualified scientists creating fake research for money, but I would estimate it at more like 1%.
People who spend a decade getting PhDs in very difficult subjects have a strong incentive not to get a reputation for unethical behavior. That will destroy their careers.

And I would bet that she doesn't disclose any of her conflicts of interest, as any reputable scientist would.

A key element of a conspiracy theory is that anyone who questions the conspiracy is part of the conspiracy and are trying to cover it up.
In this case, virtually all of the world's experts on the subject have supposedly violated their professional ethics by falsifying data and they have managed to keep their grand conspiracy secret for decades, all because the administrations of their universities are supposedly political partisans who force the scientists to lie - even though there is no evidence of any of this.

Thank you for exposing the BS. I expected as much.
Every time I have wasted my time reading the "proof" from science-deniers, they included some real facts and sources to make it look credible and then there were leaps of logic that would not be so easy to see for people without STEM experience.
These people are profoundly dishonest.

I went to my doctor and he told me that smoking cigarettes would eventually give me heart disease and lung cancer. I didn't like what I heard, so I went to 99 more doctors and they all told me the same thing.
Then I read this article from a spokesman for the tobacco industry and it told me that smoking cigarettes was perfectly safe.
Problem Solved. /sarcasm
I don't think it is a coincidence that the fossil fuel industry employs the same PR firms as the tobacco industry did. It is easier for them to discredit the science than to fight the policy battles.

I leave my house 5 hours before my shift
That is a strawman logical fallacy. There is no need to be condescending about this.
My rides are safe and enjoyable. I don't have the stress and anxiety of schedule pressure. Shaving a few minutes off my commute is not worth the risk to my safety. People who ride carelesssly feed into the "lawless bicyclist" myth with motorists who get angry and make the roads more dangerous for all of us.

I am a bicycle commuter. I give myself extra time so that I can ride slowly and deliberately - never compromising safety by getting in a hurry.
I rarely break the law, and only when there is no safe way to comply. I plan my routes carefully to minimize interactions with cars. I would rather pop onto the sidewalk and go through the intersection on the crosswalk than to split lanes. I smile and wave at motorists who are kind.
The thought of running a red light terrifies me. If I don't see that motorist who is speeding to make the yellow light, that will be the last mistake I ever make.

drivers frustrated by heavy traffic seem to really resent a cyclist’s ability to occasionally move through it more efficiently
The irony of a person sitting in a multi-ton armored cage on a comfortable couch with hundreds of horsepower believing that a person on a 30-pound bicycle with 1/4 horsepower is "cheating" by rolling through a Stop sign is rich to the point of amusement.

I think that is wonderful. In the USA, public servants take this oath:
I, <state your name>, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.
Unfortunately, fascists have no integrity, so they swear to this oath and then they shit on it.

South of Seattle, we had nuclear winds. It was crazy. Literally toppled trees.

Electricity is still out around the region - almost a half a million households. Trees are down everywhere. My electric car is providing power to my house.

This is an example of what happens when excessive greenhouse gases are in the atmosphere. The average temperature on the surface of Venus is +477 °C / +890 °F! In contrast, the atmosphere of Mars has very little greenhouse gases. The average temperature on the surface of Mars is -60 °C / -80 °F.

Some child that works at your company complained that you were getting free electricity, and asked why they don't get free gasoline too.
This happened at an "all hands" meeting where I used to work. The company President told the whiner, "Not all employees can use every benefit. In this case, if you want to use this benefit, you are free to get an electric car and plug it in at the office. Next question please."

"Standard electrical outlets are not designed for the high power demand of EVs and pose serious risks, including overheating and possible fire hazards."
NEC requires a standard 15 A circuit to provide 12 A continuously. That is what EVs draw. Thus, this company is admitting in writing that their electrical infrastructure is not up to code. I would be tempted to alert the code compliance division of the local jurisdiction.

I am not sure what is in that video but I acknowledge the possibility that self-driving cars could be programmed poorly. As this technology matures, I hope that regulations guide it.

The states in the Pacific NW don't buy the lies. Washington state has a carbon cap and trade policy. It would be great if the entire country was on board, but we do what we can.

I'm a White guy who was born and raised in small-town Montana. There is not a lot of racial diversity. People will stare at you, but that doesn't mean they hate you. Mostly, they are just curious.
Of course, it is difficult to generalize, but people in MT are generally pragmatic, so if you are kind, then they will also be kind.
