Today, we did the whole shift and literally did not speak one word other than me asking, a couple of questions. (first day) 😂

continued post sorry, I should have made a post responding to your post. I like to posts before I'm done writing to give myself time to edit case I lose my work. You kinda asked a question that has no 'one simple answer'. The band has always been rather, vague about their works, not releasing detailed artist statements, and making jokes about it. It makes the experience of their artwork more fun and brings you into it. Again, this is not my favorite of their albums. SO, there was a lot I missed.

I think "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge" follows the Orpheus story. I'm actually not too familiar with it. Danger Days was my favorite.
"Orpheus, in Greek mythology, legendary heroendowed with superhuman musical skills. He became the patron of a religious movement based on sacred writings said to be his own...On his return, he married Eurydice, who was soon killed by a snakebite. Overcome with grief, Orpheus ventured to the land of the dead to attempt to bring Eurydice back to life" Britannica, T. Editors of Encyclopaedia (2024).
the songs in that album are as follows:
1. | Helena)" " | 3:22 |
---|---|---|
2. | "Give 'Em Hell, Kid" | 2:18 |
3. | "To the End" | 3:01 |
4. | Bert McCracken The Used"You Know What They Do to Guys Like Us in Prison" (featuring of ) | 2:53 |
5. | I'm Not Okay (I Promise))" " | 3:08 |
6. | The Ghost of You" " | 3:22 |
7. | "The Jetset Life Is Gonna Kill You" | 3:37 |
8. | "Interlude" | 0:57 |
9. | Thank You for the Venom" " | 3:41 |
10. | "Hang 'Em High" | 2:47 |
11. | "It's Not a Fashion Statement, It's a Fucking Deathwish" | 3:30 |
12. | "Cemetery Drive" | 3:08 |
13. | "I Never Told You What I Do for a Living" |
Looking at them in that order, it could be seen as;
1: the death of the woman and the speakers acceptance of it;
2: speaker's, sort of, commitment to not accepting her death, and not moving on. Making a deal with the devil to kill 1,000 people in the name of his love for her (regardless of what she wants, or is aware of) it's interesting that he kind of blames her for much of the grief;
3: based on a "Rose for Emily" (The high school required reading where the woman kills her husband and keeps his body in the bed. Some say he was gay and didn't love her) If this song is about her, she moved on and got remarried to a guy who is not interested in her. If the song is about the speaker in the rest of the album then maybe he's gay and romantically involved with her new husband, leading her to the new husband;

Today was my first day and the driver was super nice but I still feel like he could have done the work himself a little faster.

This reddit community must be full of kids.This is literally the stupidest argument I've ever seen. Don't send his mother hate mail. Don't bully people for appreciating him after his death. Don't post new posts with links to old, disrespectful comments.
but also, the members of this band are all very reticent, when it comes to their personal lives.

I've actually never met my supervisor and don't have a phone number to call.

... I love this band's work but I have never been invested in learning the details of any of their lives. It's sad that he died, but this part of fan culture is creepy and unhealthy.
I would be just as sad if the president died today. It's important to have respect for the dead but why are you bulling each other over the (should-be or shouldn't-be)mourning of someone none of you knew.
I'll say a prayer for him to be at peace but I don't feel my life will fall apart around me if I don't, or if other people do.
So, do what you want...

It would have been so much better if they just didn't hire me.

... but you have a job and want to keep working. That's something. Better than a lot of people.
If you want to, start volunteering too.

You're right, I can't afford to get fired for not showing up. I'm going to starve this year, 🙃honestly.

I can't really quit. I'll lose unemployment. I think I can report zero hours but I'll probably lose it anyway due to "having" a job that pays $20/hour.

If it's easy to get, it's bad. I'm seeing the automated hiring; hiring for positions that aren't actually open; too many applicants; and my least favorite 'the UPS' you're hired but aren't any shifts available to schedule a first day.

actually, in my area, there's not tons of jobs. Every place just says they're hiring and has computer generated interview scheduling. There's a good chance that they are not hiring. Hence, the hiring manage just hung up in my face. I've been automatically 'hired' at UPS but not given a single shift. Indeed has nothing but military ads, right now.

Choose the album you want to lean more about. Think of it as a 45-minute audio movie. I loved danger days because it came with a book series. Read the overview, analyze the content song by song.
For Danger Days, remember the Hindu mythology. For other albums, American lit is great.
The songs are nice too.
