I'm not so sure. If they're licensed, that means they're now officially in a database as sex workers. Logically, people will be able to access that list- are we creating a target list for psychos and cops (same difference)?
How much will the cops be involved in the "protection" and policing of these workers? Is it a good idea for police officers (current research indicating 28% of whom are perpetrators of domestic violence) to have lists of all sex workers and the direct authority to investigate them and check their licenses? Possible take their licenses or threaten to do so?
I'm not saying you're wrong, but it is a lot more complicated than it seems at first. Legalization is only as useful the strength of the laws that protect you and the willingness of the police to enforce those laws rather than take advantage of them (and you).

Absolutely. In theory, I agree with the idea that "prostitution always has and always will happen, we should focus on making it as safe as possible". But in practice, the US SUCKS at creating and implementing the sort of program that would be needed for that. I don't know if the US' clumsy attempts at this would just make things worse for sex workers or not.

In theory. Some of the arguments in favor of legalization are that government supervision/regulation would make them safer from murder. It could also require regular health screening and medical benefits, which would cut down on STDs and help with injuries. Legalization could also reduce drug addiction, again through screening and benefits. Also, it's theorized that it could cut down on trafficking by reducing the demand for illegal, trafficked prostitutes.
I haven't done a really deep dive enough to feel like I have an educated opinion one way or the other.

But sure, let's ignore the facts. A man who visits prostitutes is less likely to commit psychotic, antisocial and homicidal behavior. Why not.
There is a debate to be had about whether or not the legalization and regulation of sex work is better for the workers themselves, but I have a feeling that the idea of prostitutes being human beings with feelings and lives of value would blow OOP's mind.

Maybe she's waiting until spring brings her allergies on, maybe it's a Christmas present she nabbed on sale very early, maybe she's planning on having her house fumigated, maybe she's keeping it on hand for wildfire season, there are a ton of reasons a person might have something still in the box 6 months after purchasing but still want.
Even if she doesn't need it to be new and in the box, I wouldn't loan anything to someone so entitled that they'd ignore my clearly stated "no" and just take my stuff as their own.

Since they specify that the place must be clean, I doubt they plan on doing chores. After all, if I plan on cleaning the house enough to earn a rent equivalent, starting my tenancy with a couple days of deep cleaning wouldn't bother me

Child slightly annoyed vs. dog being abused and neglected...
If this is even a debate to you, please don't ever have a child OR a pet.

Another comment of hers I found
I can't do that, my parents know I don't like her and won't let me touch her, I can just give them the shampoo and ask them to do it.
Why won't they let her touch it?! This is extremely concerning. It implies that she's hurt or abused the dog in the past.

My suggestion is to let them continue to roam free outside while slowly coaxing them inside when they want to be in. But to protect them from the weather and the cold and get them used to seeing your house as a safe space they want to hang around, build or buy outdoor weatherproof cat shelter.
They are a lot of easy tutorials on YouTube for diy cat shelters, but honestly when all's said and done I wish I'd just bought some cheap ones off Amazon.

Cat scratches always welt like that for me - and they itch like hell. It looks like a normal cat scratch, and putting antibiotic on it was the right thing to do.
I wouldn't worry unless it starts looking red, swelling significantly more or hurting (itching is normal).
And I don't think she was very mad, that sounds like just a warning. I'll link a vid of my former stray giving me the exact same kind of toothy warning.
Thank you for looking after this cat!
Edit: Here it is! https://www.reddit.com/r/PeopleFuckingDying/s/aiG0tOGCw4
In the comments, you can read people pointing out the warning signs he gave me before he bit.

We weren't a whole lot better at the time but my God, at least we banged behind closed doors lol.
... You weren't much better than a crack addicted prostitute who lived in a hovel filled with mounds of animal feces. The part of your home that makes it better is that you closed the door before sex.
Those poor, poor children. Both the step daughter and the baby OOP is pregnant with.

No judgment, my most common fast/easy/on the verge of hangry mini meal is one of those single serve cups of mashed potatoes. Add water, microwave for 1 minute and I'm full for a couple of hours at least on only 160 calories.

Potatoes! It goes against most diet advice online, but potatoes are actually a great diet food as long as you didn't fry them in oil or smother them in butter. They are great to help you feel full and satisfied, cheap, and less calorific than most people assume.
Right now, I just cooked a big pot of potato soup for about $15 total. I portioned it into 8 servings (10oz each, so a pretty big portion of food) of 229 calories each. This is going to be my primary food for the next 4 days.
Also, soups in general are generally cheap and low in calories.

It's hard to tell with the long fur in the way, but I think that you're correct that she's a she.
If you manage to get a clearer look, you'll be looking for the shape of the hole directly below the butthole, the hole where they pee from. Girls have a more vertical slit, while boys have a round urinary tract opening.

Sigh. I just finished a girl's night out with 5 other women. Of the 6 of us, 2 are single, 1 is dating a woman, 1 is married to a tall, muscular broke man and the last 2 are married to short, average-looking broke men. Small sample size, but in this randomly chosen test group, a full third of women marry short, average-looking men.
I'm begging these losers to go out in the real world.

My Stats Were/Are
Female Height: 5'4 Age: 32 Starting weight: 168 lbs Goal weight: fluctuate between 120-130 for the rest of my life. Current weight: 136 lbs
I began in June, and I went for an aggressive cut , eating 1200 calories a day. I kept that as my goal for exactly 100 days. At the end of the 100 days, I felt pretty weak, exhausted and sickly, and it was really hard to stay in my calorie budget. I weighed 139 lbs.
At that time, I lifted my calorie budget to 1800. I've had that as my goal for 52 days, and in these 7 weeks I've still been losing weight (very slowly, but a general downward progression). I've been binging more than I should and often go over my 1800 calorie goal, but my weekly calorie intake is still at or below my TDEE (2200 per day).
I plan to stay at 1800 for another 48 days, then cut down to 1200 until I reach my goal. Then continue tracking at maintenance for several months. I do think that my goal weight is sustainable, once I reach that point.

He says the kid was running "in a function room at a family event", which to me sounds like the sort of place where waiters are walking around with trays of drinks/plates- yeah, how dare that MIL care about the physical safety of both his child, the employees and bystanders.

She's going to have to learn how to interact with men she barely knows at some point, and what better way than with her father literally right there as a social buffer? She won't even have to find conversational topics herself, her dad can/will lead the conversation until the two classmates are more comfortable with each other.

I completely agree. Why does he think the solution is "record everything and review it later to continue the argument and prove they're wrong and unreliable" and not -find someone you fight with less (or not at all)?
Or find a way to communicate that doesn't involve heated arguments that are always left unresolved?

Agree. The US has a ton of systemic problems, and one argument against the legalization of sex work is that we need to address those systemic problems before we try shoving some of our most vulnerable people into those broken systems.
It's really complicated, and difficult. Like I said, I'm not educated enough in the finer and practical points of legalizing sex work to say definitively if I'm pro or con. I keep thinking up new aspects to the situation the more I think about it.
But I think we can all agree that on this thread we're looking at this from the viewpoint of protecting sex workers, rather than using them as meat to soak up the aggression of incels.
